Life & Work with Stacie Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacie Jones.

Hi Stacie; please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi I’m Stacie Jones, former Apprentice TV Show alum, entrepreneur, and mom to Rylie (14 years old) and Codie (10 years old). At the beginning of this year, we launched Rylie and Codie’s World, a youtube webseries about the life of two young, multicultural sisters in New York pursuing their dance dreams. In the 6-part web series, the girls navigate dancing five to six days a week while maintaining their schoolwork, entrepreneurial endeavors, and family life. Imagine the TV show Fame with Rylie and Codie trying to be the next Misty Copeland. The girls are being branded as social media influencers in the World of dance and kid entrepreneurship. We are currently seeking network and streaming opportunities to place the show—ideally, Nickelodeon, Netflix, the Peacock Channel, Hulu, etc. If you like the show, please contact us, and please share.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
The girls dance 5-6 days a week. They also take a singing class once a week. Music lessons are once a week. Rylie has been playing the cello since age 4, and Codie has been playing the violin since age 3. This school year, the girls will also be in acting class. The most challenging aspect of the girls’ daily lives is managing their schedule while allowing them to be kids. The girls take their commitment to the arts and their school work seriously. They get a chance to relax for about 2 weeks per season. Managing 2 young ladies’ schedules while staying balanced is a challenge. But, it gets done.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the co-creator of Rylie and Codie’s World with the girls; and I am the girl’s mother and Momager. I manage their daily schedule and help facilitate the girl’s dreams. Rylie and Codie’s World was created because the girls had been talking about doing a youtube show for a few years. Once the pandemic happened, it was the perfect time.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
The girls finished a 4-week summer dance intensive with Debbie Allen in Los Angeles. The TV show FAME starring Debbie Allen, inspired Rylie and Codie’s World. We watched the entire series at the beginning of the pandemic. This led directly to the birth of Rylie and Codie’s World. Debbie Allen’s Summer dance intensive immersed the girls into different forms of dance: Ballet, Dunham, Modern, Jazz, Flamingo, and Hip hop genres were all part of the dance curriculum. Debbie Allen taught the musical theater component. They had to sing, dance and act in the musical “Hair.” This was a truly amazing experience for them. Debbie is a dance master. They enjoyed every second of studying with the great Debbie Allen. They were placed in the top 2 levels, and were dancing with kids who were 20 years old and older. This solidified that the training in NYC with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and Uptown Dance Academy is top-notch. They also got to study dance with a guest teacher: Abby Lee Miller from Dance Moms. This was a complete surprise to both girls. They have watched every episode of Dance Moms and enjoyed taking class with Abby. Debbie Allen invited the girls to study with her full-time. Now, they want to move out to Los Angeles and train at Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
