Life & Work with Kayla Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Jackson.

Hi Kayla, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always took care of my skin, and have been into icons and iconic moments. I went through a depression in 2017, like no other losing weight, going through a slight heartbreak, I decided to start making my own skin products just for me. My self-care is what got me up daily, what helped me move. I eventually went to skincare school, after dropping out of college. I even went to Bartending school, I’m really great with mixing and creating new things. As Time went on, I rebranded myself. My biggest thing for my Brand is Knowing Thy Self and understanding that there is a higher you and a higher power in general.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been smooth, I was using product money to survive in the beginning, my mom put me out of the house not wanting me to make products on her furniture anymore. I was in and out of a relationship with my first love, my own emotional turmoil. I was arrested, dropped out of college and I still feel like there’s more for me to overcome. The big orders, I use to write the name of the customers on the packages before actually getting a printer and having labels. The big orders, me having to make the orders alone, market alone but I’m learning to use others to help so things actually become easier.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have my own business making my own natural skincare products for all skin types, I’m also a Mixologist specializing in cocktails, I’m known for modeling, skincare, taking care of my skin, maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. What sets me apart is my energy, my authenticness and awareness, and how I take on life. And my biggest dream in goal in life is to be an actress and I recently just got my first background role; I want to inspire and motivate others with my story and goals accomplished.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I’ve learned so much. I learned to take it one day at a time literally, handle what you set the day for, nothing more or less unless need be. I’ve learn that your body tells you everything you need to know when you listen to it. I’ve lean that even the impossible is possible although I’ve already lived by that. I’ve learning that the you grow a little every day as long as you allow yourself too and lastly, nobody knows what they are doing we are all trying to figure out life, so don’t judge, only understand but don’t be naive.
