Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Jackson-Dickey.
Hi Tiffany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Tiffany Jackson-Dickey, wife and mom of 2 beautiful girls (8 and 2) and co-owner of Never Broken Training & Fitness.
Never Broken is a family-friendly gym that’s dedicated to making its clientele stronger and healthier. I share ownership with my brother, Trabien Smith. We both got into fitness in 2013 as a way to increase our performance in recreational football and basketball. As a result, we fell in love with the process and took steps to become professional trainers in 2018; and then opening our doors in June 2019.
We both have a passion to help others use fitness as a mechanism to live healthier lifestyles and perform better (faster, stronger, etc) in other sports and activities. This is a lifestyle to us that we love sharing with others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not always. Various reasons have made it bumpy over the last 3 years.
1) Trying to get people to buy into the process (long-term weight loss and good health don’t happen overnight) when social media has influencers selling gimmicks for immediate results is hard to battle – not everyone can separate reality from what’s online. 2) Keeping consistent membership over time.
Fitness is a lifelong journey – some folks only want to commit 6 months to a year, making our membership fluctuate over time. 3) We luckily survived COVID!
We didn’t lose any membership during that time, but with the recent inflation of gas and food prices, folks are having to make the hard decisions on what they deem as a true necessity, and sadly, not everyone thinks fitness is. We’re at our lowest numbers for membership in the last 3 years.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

* Group Classes (Functional Fitness, Senior Fitness, Zumba, Yoga, Bootcamp, and Strength & Conditioning)
I am a co-owner with my brother, Trabien Smith. We’re both certified in multiple areas of fitness, but my specific specialty is Nutrition Coaching. I love teaching people how to lose or gain weight (yes some people want to gain!) in the healthiest way possible, without giving up the foods they love.
What sets us apart is that everything we do can be scalable/modifiable for all people ages 5-100! You have to work hard in fitness in order to see results, but we make it fun for everyone so that it’s not a chore – but something you want to do for the rest of your life!
We want our readers to know, that although we push a lot of our various group classes on our social media platform, we do offer personal training for those that do not prefer group settings. Personal Training sessions in person at our studio, or remotely.
Our remote Personal Training is perfect for those people who have access to global gyms, have crazy schedules, want to work out, but have no clue what to do once in the gym. We design your program and check in weekly on your progress.
We view our members as family and care about your results as much (sometimes more!) as you do.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
We care. We care that our members enjoy what they’re doing while training with us and that they’re getting their expected results.
We teach our members the “why” behind our methodology so they understand their purpose in the gym and know how to apply certain things (functional fitness and nutrition) outside of the gym, in their daily lives. We care about our member’s health – diet and exercise can help reduce the chance of heart disease and diabetes. We love when our members tell us they received glowing reports in their physicals!
Our messaging is honest, transparent, and consistent. Whether you talk to me or my brother, the answer is the same – and it coincides with the science behind fitness. We don’t sell smoke dreams to try and get a sale. We help our clients set realistic goals/expectations so that they’re successful in their journey.
Lastly, we’re fair. We offer a lot for our services. When you compare our prices to other businesses, you’ll see that although our prices aren’t cheap, the value you receive for the price you pay is worth a lot more than many of our competitors. Back to my first point – we care about the health of our members.
If we could offer our services for free to reduce the amount of black/brown people that suffer from heart disease and diabetes, we would! But we have fees to pay that’s why we make our prices comparable, but give you a lot for your money.
