Hi Tamauri Moné, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Life takes us through many unexpected turns. I never would’ve thought that I would launch a business during a pandemic at the end of my senior year of high school. It was a rough time for everyone. Classes switched to online learning, all senior activities were canceled, people were dying, there were riots and protests happening around the world, all while being in a lockdown. My parents were travel nurses helping with COVID patients, so I spent most of my time during the lockdown home alone. Spending so much time alone forced me to take a look at myself in the mirror, I had a lot of healing to do. I was battling depression and still grieving the loss of my father, who passed my junior year. I felt so lost and uncertain about life, I didn’t know how to move forward. I figured that I would use this time as an opportunity to try new things. That’s when I discovered lashes and spirituality. My mother encouraged me to take a training course to become a certified lash tech.
At the time, I didn’t think that lashes were “my thing,” but I tried it, and I loved it. I received my lash extension certification in May. While I was completing my lash training, I was also having a spiritual awakening. I began questioning my beliefs about life and the afterlife. I was reading and learning more about astrology, crystals, tarot readings, and all other things spiritual. I began meditating more and ordered my very first set of crystals. Life was beginning to seem more clear. I was healing, learning more about myself, and started actually believing in myself. Through healing myself, I realized that my passion is to heal others. So, I decided to create a spiritual platform to reach out and help others. This is how Lashin’ Out Loud LLC was created. I used my love for lashes and my passion for spirituality and combined them. Lashin’ Out Loud LLC aims to provide beauty services while also encouraging self-love and healing. With every pair of lashes that is sold comes a crystal that has its own specific healing energy. I personally matched every pair of lashes with each crystal and their meaning. Keeping these crystals around or just meditating with them can improve your day, ease the healing process, and just make life better, and you get a cute pair of lashes to go with it!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing worth having comes easy. Before launching Lashin’ Out Loud LLC, I had to do a lot of behind the scenes work. Since my mission for this business was to help others, I had to help myself first. You can’t pour into others without pouring into yourself first, that was my biggest obstacle. I had to believe in myself and release all of my self-limiting beliefs. Sometimes I felt I wasn’t good enough and I had a strong case of imposter syndrome. While I was practicing lashes, I would get so frustrated that I didn’t want to do it anymore. It is such a tedious skill that has taught me to be patient with myself. Patience was the most important key for launching my business. Figuring out how to create a website on my own required patience. Finding vendors to supply the crystals required patience. Practicing my lash skills required patience. The healing process required patience. Creating the branding, logo, and packaging required patience. I am a person who wants everything to be perfect and to happen fast, I wanted all of the inventory to sell out immediately, I wanted my platform to grow immediately. But I learned that the journey isn’t a straight line. It’s a roller coaster, you just have to ride it, enjoy it, and be patient. I continue to nurture myself and nurture my business so that we can grow together.
We’ve been impressed with Lashin’ Out Loud LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lashin’ Out Loud LLC provides semi-permanent lash extensions, lash strips, lash kits, and crystals. When providing lash services, Lashin’ Out Loud focuses on creating the perfect set that fits the client’s needs. Healthy lashes are a priority at Lashin’ Out Loud. With the slogan, “the spiritual lash line,” our mission is to use beauty and cosmetology to encourage self-love, inner healing, and connecting to one’s spirit. So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Love is what matters to me most. Everything that I do is fueled by love and the passion to help others. I’ve always been a person who leads with her heart, who sees the good in everyone, and who always wants to help others. I am a natural-born healer filled with love. Through genuinely loving yourself, you love others. When you love yourself, you work on healing yourself, and then you heal others. When you love yourself, you will accept yourself for who you are, then you will accept others for who they are. When you fill yourself with love, you fill others with love. The world needs more love. Love is acceptance, compassion, passion, guidance, motivation, and healing. When I began truly loving myself, I healed myself. Then I realized I am here to heal others. We are all here to love and heal others. We are here to take care of each other and to appreciate each other. We are here to experience love and life before it is our time to go. We are here to use our love to make a difference in this world, to be kind, and to give back. As a spiritualist, I believe that we are all one. We are all energies of the universe. So when one kind of act is performed, it is a kind act to everyone. When one person loves, so does another. We carry each other, so why not just do it with love? While I am here, my goal is to spread as much love as possible, to make as many people as possible smile, to support and help heal as many people as possible because I love.
