Inspiring Conversations with Erin Noelle Bullock of Property Exposures

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Noelle Bullock.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At 25 years old, I joined the U.S. Navy, at which time I was offered a unique set of orders as an interpretive historian aboard USS Constitution in Boston, Massachusetts, which of course, is sister ship to Baltimore’s own USS Constellation and the world’s oldest commissioned warship still afloat.

I enlisted to the Navy as a Gunner’s Mate (weapons operation and maintenance), but due to my special assignment, I was assigned to the command’s public affairs department, where I began learning all aspects of PA: photojournalism, news story writing, media relations, etc. Though I am self-taught, I had a knack for photography and was able to spend all five years as an active duty Sailor producing images and advancing my skills as a photographer, even while performing in my assigned field as a weapons specialist, marksmanship coach and missile launcher technician. I since have transitioned out of active Navy service and Air Force Reserve as a photojournalist.

During my transition out of the Navy, I took some interviews, weighed my options and tossed around various career moves. But when I moved to Baltimore as part of the DoD SkillBridge program, a transitional internship for active duty service members, I met a very influential group of young entrepreneurs who opened my eyes to the possibility of self-employment and small business ownership. I didn’t even know what entrepreneurship meant prior to meeting the young Charm City natives, and we are now best friends. Their influence and guidance changed the course of my life, and I am forever grateful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been rough and rocky, but the path which has led me to where I am has made me who I am as a photographer, leader, and emotionally intelligent human.

It was a struggle having had little to no formal education within mass media and photography, especially in the military, which can be a challenging environment for outside-the-box thinkers.

Learning the aspects of not only getting a small business legally operating completely on my own, along with learning the technical specifics of how to perform as a successful real estate photographer, which is a very niche skill set and launching the business in a city as a non-native with very few professional connections. It has taken a lot of extra effort to build those relationships and networks. Having launched in 2020 at the height of the COVID Pandemic, I was unable to just stop into offices and chat with the staff, go to networking events, or offer to host breakfast presentations. Remote networking is TOUGH!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Property Exposures?
I own and operate Property Exposures, LLC. I offer MLS ready photos, videos, Matterport 3D Tours, virtual staging with a 24 hour or less delivery time for real estate professionals and investors in the Baltimore area.

My business is set apart from the others in the area as I offer simple pricing and am local to Baltimore. I strive to provide personalized service to my clients and I have a genuine concern for customer service and prefer to earn long-term business rather than nickel-and-diming projects. I am most proud at how far I have come since launching only last September. It feels surreal, honestly.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am so thankful that I opened my business in Baltimore, and I am so appreciative of the love and encouragement that you all have sent my way.
