Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Shaw.

Hi Amber, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started doing hair when I was 15 y/o and ever since I’ve just had a passion for it. I officially started my business in 2019 as “Summer Beauty Bundles” selling Brazilian bundles of hair and different hair tools, such as stylish hot combs and flat irons.

Now in 2022, my business is called “Summer Beauty (salon de beautè)”. Offering hair services, selling hair extensions, tools, and products, and more to come. I got to where I am today by simply never giving up.

When it comes to running a business there are going to be days that are worst than others, but the main goal is to keep the faith. My passion for hair is what keeps me pushing forward every day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road?

Lol, I wish. I started my business mid-college, so a lot of my clientele was college students and my friends. I didn’t have a lot of clients or people to support me as soon as I started and that was when I realized that there are good days and there will be bad days when it comes to running a business.

So the first year of business, I was mainly trying to figure out the ropes while also trying to stay focused and keep good grades in school.

We’ve been impressed with Summer Beauty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business name is Summer Beauty (salon de beautè).

At Summer Beauty, I sell bundles of hair, and stylish hair tools, as well as I also do hair. I’m mostly known for doing hairstyles such as soft-locs, wig installs, and quick weaves. I would say I’m most proud of my growth in being a hairstylist, my hair skills, and my business etiquette.

I’d like for the readers to know that when it comes to me servicing you, you’ll never be disappointed. When it comes to a service, purchase, or whatever, I can promise a positive result. And just remember the name.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Any advice that I have for anyone that’s about to start a business is to keep the faith. Not every day is going to be a good day and it’s good to keep people around you that want to see you succeed.

Have a reason for why you’re starting a business! And do your research!
