Inspiring Conversations with Alisha Small of Living Fulfilled Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Small.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and mostly raised in Brooklyn, New York. I came from very humble beginnings, being the youngest of four children. My journey with entrepreneurship started in 2016 after leaving my job with the New York City Department of Education. That year, I started Dreamer Transportation Services. Dreamer is a private van service for children enrolled in public, private and charter schools. I always wanted to start my own business, and I always had a passion for helping people.

After working in the education field for over 5 years, I decided I wanted to start a service-based business that would help parents with their hectic day-to-day schedules. Once I took that leap of faith, I never came down. In 2019, I took everything I learned from my first business and opened up Keyz Kloset, an online women’s boutique. I started off with a line of motivational t-shirts with sayings I came up with during a time where I was investing in my own personal development.

After opening my businesses I took some time to address some issues I was having related to struggles with past unresolved trauma. During that time not only did I become engulfed in my own healing, and growth I became widely curious about the healing, growth, and advancement of other women. It was at that time, I discovered another passion which was inspirational speaking and personal development coaching.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have made a lot of mistakes throughout my journey. Being a mother, wife, and businesswoman trying to maintain balance, heal, grow, and equip myself with the tools to deal with the ups and down’s life brings a challenge in itself.

Towards the end of 2019, I started to transition from solely being an entrepreneur to becoming an entrepreneur, speaker, and coach. Shortly after the pandemic hit, my life changed forever. 2020 was one of the hardest years for me and my family. That year, I faced two cancer scares, my marriage was in shambles, I moved my family from New York to Maryland, I was suffering from high functioning depression, and emotional eating which left me at my highest weight of 330 lbs.

At one of my lowest points, I was left with a decision to make. Do I put my businesses to the side and work on my total wellness, or keep working on my businesses and risk not living long enough to see the fruits of my labor. At the end of the year after having surgery, I made my decision to focus on my health, my family, and become vegan.

Since then, I have lost 70lbs, saved my marriage, launched my coaching practice Living Fulfilled Coaching, and am in the process of relaunching Keyz Kloset.

As you know, we’re big fans of Living Fulfilled Coaching. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

My clients obtain new skills, habits, and thoughts by discovering from within. When you are a client with Living Fulfilled Coaching you unlock your own potential, and maximize your performance. We help you learn rather than just teach you.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I personally don’t believe in luck. I do believe in God, grace, favor, believing in yourself, being intentional, and doing the work. I believe in and value personal development.

Personal development is your self-care. How you take care of yourself determines who you are as a person, who you are as a person will determine your habits, and your habits will determine who you are in other areas of your life.

When you have the fundamental skills to show up as the best version of yourself in any situation, it’s only a matter of time before you achieve your goals.
