Hidden Gems: Meet Javon Roye of JPR Create

Today we’d like to introduce you to Javon Roye.

Hi Javon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always wanted to embrace my creative side; however, when I was young, all the boys and men around me were not into that. So I suppressed it.

Then, years later when I was 18 and going through a lot I realized the only way I could heal was through my creativity. Creativity was my key to feeling free. So, I started studying film, picked up a camera in 2019 so that I could grow my skill set, and then I fell in love with visual storytelling and using my talents to help people find freedom through creativity or financial freedom by using my content to grow their business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any road, mine has had many struggles. My first struggle was realizing it was okay to be myself. Moreover, it’s the only way. I think this was the biggest struggle because it kept me from being confident and confidence is key not only as a photographer and videographer but as a human. With confidence, you can grow as fast as you want and do anything you want.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
JPR Create, LLC is a digital content creation business that specializes in photography and videography. I started it in March 2020. The mission is to use visual storytelling to help people find freedom through creative expression and help business owners/brands find financial freedom by using my content to grow their businesses. What sets JPR apart from others is that we really get to know a person and their brand/business or project. Also, at the heart of everything we do there is always a story being told. These two things.

Our ability to listen and uncover a person’s problem and create a solution or listen to discover ways to elevate their idea has resulted is dozens of referrals from our clients. This ability of ours has led to one of the most special moments in my life. During a photoshoot, a mother cried and expressed how the concept was exactly what she wanted for her family photo shoot and she could not believe how well I listened to her needs. It was a powerful moment.

What I want people to know is, if you’re looking for a photographer or videographer who is here to see you grow, listen to you, and help you along the way JPR is for you. My website is and you can view my portfolio, see my packages, and book me there!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Josh Nathan, I have to acknowledge him first because without him I would not have learned as quickly as I have. I wouldn’t even have been as motivated. He is a filmmaker and photographer and after he shot an amazing project for me, I realized that this field was for me. My old boxing coach, coach Zeek is also another man that helped me a lot. One day, he sat me down and said “You have too many jobs. You work a 9-5, you’re an amateur boxer with hopes of going pro, and you’re a photographer. You need to choose one and I know you will choose the right one.” This trust and advice from him, a man I looked up to, really made me realize that I could achieve my goals as a creator.

Lastly, my father, grandmother, grandfather, and all of my family are in Jamaica. My father is the hardest working man I have ever met and so was his father. I took on my grandfather’s name as a nickname and it’s the “P” in “JPR”. It stands for Pasaro. When he passed it really impacted my father and me. Then, when my grandmother on my mom’s side passed, it impacted my father and I heavily as well. I go hard every day because the name “Pasaro” has to live on and I need to achieve my goals before more people in my life move on to the next life.
