Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Wisniewski.
Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started a Baltimore Community Cleanup event called Hands On HIIT which incorporates a workout, clean up, and happy hour. It was started during Covid times with two friends, Kate Cook and Katherine Filippetti. I had been hosting cleanups, Kate was doing outdoor fitness classes, and Kathy brought us two together to form Hands-On HIIT! Since then we have collected 1,637 lbs of trash in Baltimore City!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We had the best first-year thanks to all of our volunteers who show up every month ready to cleanup Canton! Definitely, a lot of hard work behind the scenes making sure things run smoothly. The hardest but also the best part is working with two of your best friends. We each encourage each other to grow and push each other out of our comfort zones.
As you know, we’re big fans of Hands On HIIT. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Hands On HIIT is a community cleanup event that incorporates a workout and clean-up followed by happy hour. We host it monthly in Canton Water Front Park. Since its start, we have expanded into doing corporate cleanups and birthday parties.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
