Hidden Gems: Meet Ashley Wolfsheimer of Love at First Sight 3D/4D Ultrasound Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Wolfsheimer.

Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I graduated UMBC Sonography program in 2013. It was the best decision of my life, I knew there was a purpose for me. I was blessed to work with the best team of MFM Doctors and Sonographers at the University of Maryland Medical Center who taught me everything I needed to know about the wonderful world of babies. They molded me into the Sonographer I am today. While working there, I expected my first child name Ava in 2014 and was blessed again to have another healthy beautiful girl named Ella in 2017. I loved working with patients and being the eye of the doctor. Scanning babies gave me so much joy and knowing that I was able to ease any anxiety of a first-time mom gave my life that purpose. During that time, when I was fortunate to do some cool 3D images for parents while I was waiting for a doctor to look over my images. It gave them so much joy to see a little preview of who their baby looked like.

One night, during dinner my husband and I were talking about how much and how cool these 3D images were. So my dear husband said to me “Why don’t we open at 3D place? So as I was busy at work, my husband began the process, I truly did not know this would happen. We came from a working class family and both worked since we were teenagers. We were never handed anything on a silver platter and worked for every single penny. Fast forward to December 15, 2017 we opened Love at First Sight 3D/4D Ultrasound Studio in Towson, Maryland. Many emotions ran through my mind as one could imagine fear, stress, anxiety but I knew God was directing me this way so I took that leap of faith. I can honestly say besides being a mother, wife, daughter, sister and many other roles, I am very blessed to be able to provide so much joy and happiness being the owner of my studio. During the pandemic, times were extremely challenging for all of us. As a small family-owned business, having to shut down during that time took my anxiety and stress to another level. With my faith in God, I knew that the darkness would fade away and that sunshine would come around. I feel absolutely honored to be a part of many beautiful moments, my ultrasound room is filled with so much love. I was finally able to see my purpose in life during this pandemic.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in life is easy, I learned that at a very young age in life. Opening up the business in 2017 was a shock for all even myself. No one saw it coming to say the least. I worked 16 hours days for many years just to make ends meet. I would work 8-9 hours at the hospital then rush to the business and work until nine doing scans. My husband and I would go to Target, Babies R’ Us, Walmart, and any type of baby store to hand out business cards. I would go to different libraries, Panera locations, walk up to any mom expecting to say hello. It was a struggle to get our name out that and what we were all about. I believe you have to work from the bottom to make it to the top. Even though almost four years later, I still hustle to make sure people think of us when someone is pregnant. We are more than just a place that takes 3D/4D pictures, we are family and make sure that all new families feel that sense of love when they walk through our door.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At our studio, we provide 3D/4D images of an unborn baby. We are able to tell some pretty cool features like if a baby have their Mother’s nose or Daddy’s lips (this is the 3D part). We get to see what they are actually doing inside the mother’s womb such as sucking their fingers, smiling, yawning, and much more (the 4D part). We also do gender reveals at 15 weeks. We can tell parents if they are expecting a boy or a girl at that time.

I am a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), that is certified in OB/GYN. This means that I went to Ultrasound school and studied everything Ultrasound related, from the organs in our bodies to veins, and of course babies. After school, I took my SPI exam to become RDMS registered. Then shortly after that, I took my OB/GYN boards to now to be certified about babies and GYN related things. This is extremely important to me because it lets all my expecting mothers know that they are safe in my arms. I am trained and know how to use my machine like that back of my hand.

What sets me apart from others is that I am a Registered Sonographer and that I truly treat every person that crosses my path like they are a part of our family. They text me when their babies are born or when they having big milestone birthday. They bring them by or come back to us when they are expecting another one. This leads into what I man proud brand-wise is that sense of home and comfort levels families feel when they leave our studio. They are more than a number or sale they are a part of our Love at First Sight Family.

We take pride in our prices and offer the best prices in the Metropolitan area. We offer military, police, teacher, and nurse discounts. We have a mid-week gender reveal special for $80. We are all about families and children, they make the experience extra special.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I LOVE all things Baltimore, about our crabs, Old Bay, hon accents and all. I was born and raised here, proud of it. The least thing about our city is all the crime, wish were just loved each other more these days.

  • We offer packages anywhere to $165 to $75.
