Exploring Life & Business with Sonja Williams of SonjaW Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonja Williams.

Hi Sonja, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My journey started maybe about 10 years ago when I found myself overweight, in debt, and not happy but executing major projects at a high level for my church, work, and helping others get clear around their goals and desires. I woke up and realized that although I had a good life and was full of joy there was more!

I was giving so much of myself to organize and build everything except my own life! I would set goals and never see them completed. I was trying to lose the same 40lbs for several years, and get out of debt while doing all the things at work and with my church. It was a weird place to be because I truly was full of joy but also stressed and not fully satisfied. This place of happy where I am but feeling there was more and I just couldn’t figure out how to get the “more” was what made me sit back and analyze what was wrong. I realized I wasn’t acknowledging my dreams and therefore couldn’t do the work to execute the true desires of my heart and having the winning life I knew could be mine!

So, I began the journey of losing over 40 pounds and getting rid of almost 30k in debt. That journey allowed me to see more of what my dreams and desires were and enabled me to see that the desires of my heart are ok to focus on. It was through that journey of self-discovery that I realized that these same systems that I used to finish projects at work and also to change my life could be used to help others connect their dreams to reality. This journey showed me that to see my own dreams become reality I had to live by principle, execute by process, and win by practice. These are the basics of life that we all need to have and I use those three things to help all of my clients make their dreams meet reality.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, it has definitely not been a smooth road. I don’t think pursuing your dreams can ever be smooth. There has been a lot of stop and start throughout the years. I’ve had the desire to start a business helping others build a life they want to build for years but I was too scared to start it. I used to make excuses about not having time because I was helping to build a program in my church or work was just too intense. One key struggle was just getting over the fear of starting. I officially started my business in 2020 but had been helping people for years before that. I had to get over the fear of not having what it takes and the fear of failing but once I actually started down the road of making my business legit and putting it out there it got easier. Note I said “easier”! It’s still a struggle but the knowledge of knowing that what I put out there will help people keeps me pushing!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SonjaW Coaching?
My business is an outgrowth of my desire to see people, namely overwhelmed multi-passionate women, living their dreams and understanding that most of what stops people is the excuse of time and the life and work balance (which there isn’t truly a balance only value-based prioritization).

Our ultimate goal at SonjaW Coaching is the help overwhelmed multi-passionate women acknowledge, execute, and win their dreams. I found, as a multi-passionate woman myself, that I execute and build great things for others but it’s usually at the detriment of the true desires of my heart. And I walk women through a process of actually acknowledging their dreams, building the processes to execute on those dreams, and then finally building life routines/practices that help them win the daily battles to keep those dreams alive. I do that through one-on-one coaching through my TripleP Framework: Live by Principle, Execute by Process, and Win by Practice.

It’s really about stewarding the time you have well. Knowing what’s important and then building the structure in your life to make those dreams actually become reality. So, currently how I guide my clients to that space is through one-on-one coaching and I’m building a new foundational course that will help people truly get a whole of and acknowledge the validity of their dreams/desires and then start the process of living life accordingly.

What matters most to you?
My goodness! What matters to me most? That people truly live fulfilling their dreams and living full of joy and peace because they know how to steward what they have well.

The why?

I truly believe that everyone is born with a purpose/dream to fulfill but we allow life and circumstance to distract us from pursuit. The dream on our hearts was placed there to help another person live their dreams and something is lost to this world when we don’t get to birth it. Either we’ve been beaten down by life or life just seems too busy to even think about dreaming. My heart’s desire is to help women get past the things that stop them from pursuing that dream, build the structure in their lives to make room for the pursuit and then get after it!
