Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Balint. 

Hi Molly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started out in the online space as a blogger, back in the golden age of blogging–when we were a tight-knit community and couldn’t imagine not checking in and commenting on every new post and update from each other. Through my little blog that followed my story of raising four girls in a fixer-upper farmhouse in Maryland, I realized that I loved being a storyteller and I loved connecting with people. That blog opened up opportunities for me to work as a freelance writer, pursue professional photography, and eventually land a job working for the largest global parenting site on the web. When social media sites like Instagram and Pinterest came on the scene, I realized that they fascinated me. I loved geeking out over their features and strategies and I saw that they could be pretty amazing tools for businesses to grow. But I also recognized that a big part of my heart wasn’t in the giant global companies, but in the small, local grassroots companies. I wanted to help the small business owner. From that my business was born–and several pivots, many cases of imposter syndrome, some failures, and some success, I began my work to help female entrepreneurs learn how to use Instagram strategically to grow their businesses. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If they’re honest, I don’t think any business owner can say that the road to where they are today was smooth. Owning a business is a journey of success, failures and pivots. Somehow owning your own business can simultaneously be the most fulfilling, exciting thing you’ve ever done, and the hardest. Some days you get a little beat up, some days you feel like you’re at the top of your game, but either way you have to show up again the next day. 

For me, there were many pivots, many failed ideas which helped me discover what I really loved, and many people in my corner cheering me along the way. 

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business focuses on helping small business owners use Instagram to grow their business. I tell all my clients that Instagram is just a piece of their business, so I teach them how to use the platform strategically, so they can log off and be present in the other areas of their business and personal life. My goal in working with business owners is to teach them strategies that are simple, straightforward, and effective. I’m not just another social media guru expecting business owners to spend hours a day marketing their business on social media. I teach from place of balance and realistic expectations. 

Right now, in my business, I work with people in several ways. For starters, I share a ton of free tips and strategies daily on my Instagram account @molly.balint. I work with clients one-on-one, offer online courses, and I have a private Instagram learning community called The Social Circle. This is an amazing community of female business owners where I teach Instagram strategies each month in a masterclass, have open office hours, and help them learn how to grow their businesses. It’s one of my favorite parts of my business and is such an inspiring and supportive community! 

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people who get to know me, are surprised to know I’m an Instagram Growth coach who lives on a 300-acre farm and has a little flock of sheep. Somehow, those two things don’t often go together!
