Exploring Life & Business with Lauren Snyder of Shop Ele Brand

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Snyder.

Hi Lauren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m originally from Wilmington, Delaware. I have always been in love with fashion ever since I can remember. Growing up, I was the friend and sister who everyone wanted to borrow clothes from. I remember telling my parents in the fourth grade that I will own my own boutique one day. It has always been my passion!

In college, I pursued my degree in fashion merchandising and had an internship with a fashion wholesale showroom in Chicago. Later, I worked as a Manager for a high-end retail clothing store and I learned the ins and outs of the business. My aspiration was to open up my own clothing boutique for young women. But, I decided to start an online boutique instead as many retail stores were closing. After doing a lot of research, I took the plunge and launched Shop Ele Brand LLC this past January.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy, I decided to open Shop Ele Brand in the midst of a pandemic! I quickly learned that sales were up in loungewear but down in “everyday” normal clothing. The vendors that I was working with also had many delays and cancellations due to Covid-19 and the lack of supplies everywhere. People are just beginning to return to their old lifestyle of socializing and traveling. After a depressing year of isolation, people are excited to dress up even if it’s just out to dinner. I am looking forward to creating an amazing fall collection and helping young women feel good about themselves.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Shop Ele Brand LLC?
Shop Ele Brand LLC launched in January 2021. It is an online young women’s clothing boutique. I opened Shop Ele Brand because it’s always been a dream of mine to have my own store. I created a brand that focuses on timeless staple pieces, as well as the latest fashion trends. My goal is to create a store that represents my own closet with pieces that I love and wear. I want every girl to feel confident in her own skin. My motto is “look good, feel good.” Every purchase, no matter how big or small brings me joy. I smile ear to ear knowing that a customer loves what they purchased!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, my favorite activities were dancing, singing, and spending every weekend with my friends. I did ballet for nine years and took singing lessons as well. I loved going to the beach every summer and spending time with my family. I also enjoyed going away to camp and meeting lots of new people. I was active in many sports, such as volleyball and soccer during the school year. I was a creative child who loved to do arts and crafts and design outfits for my dolls. Although I was a twin, I always wanted to show my own individuality and express my personality through style.
