Exploring Life & Business with Adrienne Russell of Curated Styles By Adrienne™️

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Russell.

Hi Adrienne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Sure! I’m Adrienne Russell, better known as The Brand Style Cultivator™️. I am a proud wife and mom of 3. My love for working with women and helping them find confidence through fashion is rooted in my love for serving others. I am a healthcare professional by day of almost 20 years that served in the underserved community for over a decade as a community pharmacist. So, I am naturally a server and educator and love to make an impact in people’s lives.

In my young adult years in college, I was known for my impeccable taste and fashion sense. One day during a typical trip to the shopping mall, I decided to stop in a new boutique to purchase a dress for an upcoming event. I will never forget how excited I was to shop in this exclusive boutique knowing I would have a one-of-a-kind dress. Unfortunately, my experience went south from that point. The sales associate explained that they “did not have anything there that would fit me.” Being a curvy woman, I felt absolutely humiliated and shameful for having the body I was born with. It almost felt like a scene out of the movie “Pretty Woman” when the sales associates sent Julia Roberts on her way for not belonging.

From that point on, I knew that I never wanted a woman to feel the feeling I felt that day. I was determined to create a space and place for women of different shapes and sizes to shop, feel beautiful, confident, and powerful through fashion. Chic Essentials Boutique was born in April 2019 from a place of pain and hurt in an effort to create the polar opposite experience for women of different shapes and sizes. In operating the boutique and hosting small events, I identified that there was a greater and deeper need for women to truly find their authentic personal brand style.

Many of my customers were “Mom-preneurs” and female entrepreneurs building businesses but like many women, had lost their personal style. They were looking for the tools and strategies needed to show up for their brands in ways that would remain authentic to their personal style and still connect with their audience/clients.

Curated Styles by Adrienne, Image Consultant Agency launched in 2020 with a focus on helping female entrepreneurs cultivate an authentic personal brand style that builds respect, trust, and revenue.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve truly believed the quote that “The road traveled to greatness is never easy, but in the end, the journey will be worth it.”

Though I was fortunate to grow up in a two-parent middle-class household, for many years my father suffered from alcoholism. This led to a huge emotional void of my father in my life from as early as I can remember to my late teenage years. With my younger brother being almost eight years my junior, I was forced to grow up much faster than expected. There were many days that I came home from school and was responsible for watching my brother while my mother worked a second and sometimes third job.

During this journey as a young child and adolescent, it made me have a deeper respect for my mother and her strength. She sacrificed to make sure that her children were taken care of and protected. She kept us in extracurricular activities, internships, and exposed us to all possible within her means.

I am also proud to say that my dad has now been sober for over 20 years and our relationship has grown stronger than ever.

It’s amazing how some of the adversities that you face truly make you more determined to push through and never stop fighting for your goals and dreams.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
The unexpected fun facts areaways the best! The most surprising thing about me that most people do not know is that I am an ambivert. Though I am very social while out with family/friends, serve clients daily, and educate for a living, I truly enjoy time and space alone to meditate and decompress.

I can also be extremely quiet and shy in large groups of people where I’m unfamiliar. I usually prefer to read the room and observe before interacting.
