Daily Inspiration: Meet XanDan

Today we’d like to introduce you to XanDan.

Hi XanDan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in East Baltimore in the ’90s. I always had a love and passion for music/entertainment since I was a kid. Music and movies have always fascinated me and being as though I had a small sense of humor and had so much love for music I started rapping for fun as a teen inspired by artists such as Lil Wayne, DMX, Waka Flocka, and many more.

Also, I start doing a short skit and adding a little humor to my visual but to keep it brief I never give up on doing what I love and chasing my dreams I motivate myself to keep going and growing every day and never forget networking and hard work is key!!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, at times, I had felt as though I wanted to give up because of the lack of support I got for others. When I really started taking the music seriously and understanding the business side of things, I would perform at shows and some of my close friends wouldn’t even come out and support and since I started my clothing line it’s been ups and downs but wintertime is always better for me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an all-around artist. I write my own music, I rap and have a unique sound. I do artwork for music covers sometimes relate logos for people and or businesses, design clothing as well as have my own brand, and lastly do a little background work and or skits.

Any big plans?
I just wanna be a gray entertainer and would love to do more background roles as well as take on a major role in a big movie or underground movie. But as far as music I feel as though I change my style by every year and get better, so I’m looking forward to making different styles of music soon.
