Daily Inspiration: Meet Twanita Dozier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Twanita Dozier.

Hi Twanita, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
In early 2017, I had a business struggling to get visibility and support. Not only was I experiencing this, but other people I knew with businesses were going through the same thing. Upon reflecting on these issues and searching for a solution, I came up with the vision of Boss Up Magazine as my solution! As a minority woman business owner, I felt it was essential to make my platform a resource for emerging entrepreneurs, focusing on those of color. As my platform progressed, I began to see that my platform needed to expand outside of just a digital magazine. From 2017 to now, my platform has been a multimedia platform that has grown to a podcast, social networking events, TV show, and mobile app! Expanding my platform to these entities has allowed me to expand my reach and cater to any business owner regardless of their current level.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey with Boss Up Magazine has been bumpy yet rewarding. I’ve had to overcome many obstacles and face many challenges that have made me want to quit. From failed projects and events, collaborations went wrong, and others misunderstanding the value of my platform – Boss Up Magazine continues to thrive.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
When I am not focused on Boss Up Magazine, I am helping companies find top talent! By day, I am a Corporate Recruiter, and I love it. Being able to help companies find top talent, as well as assisting people in finding their way into the workforce, is very rewarding to me. I enjoy connecting and helping people and never having a dull moment at work!
