Daily Inspiration: Meet Taiye Singletary

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taiye Singletary.

Hi Taiye, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Yes, it’s truly an honor and I thank you for this opportunity. So let’s get right into it. I always knew I wanted to become a realtor after purchasing my first home. I enjoyed the process and appreciated the thoroughness of my realtor. Due to me always working two jobs, I didn’t take the initial step to study for my real estate license until I was laid off from my old employer. The time allowed me to focus on perfecting what my heart desired truly. From that moment of me trusting my instinct, it finally has me walking in my purpose, which is assisting many to meet their real estate needs or simply being a resource.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lol, smooth, not by far! Being a realtor and a full-time entrepreneur has its good and bad days. Everyone’s journey is different, but many don’t tell you that you can become depressed, stressed, overwhelmed, lost, scared, happy, or even anxious at some point along the way. The key factor for me has been to remain consistent. Some days I want to cry, but I know deep down inside I must push harder. I have my family depending on me. I have people who watch me and become motivated. I also have family, friends, and colleagues rooting for my success, which also gives me the momentum to keep going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a realtor licensed in MD, DC & PA. I serve and meet people where they are with their real estate needs and beyond. I specialize in first and second-generation buyers. I’m also a new construction expert and curate special plans to fit each seller individually. I’m known to many as the mother, lol. I’m passionate about my craft and how others connected to me excel. That applies to all aspects of life, not just real estate. I’m proud of obtaining my DC & PA licenses within the same year. I’m also proud of unknowingly becoming a mentor to many agents. What sets me apart is that all my clients truly turn into my family. I love them as if they were blood-related. I take the time to learn about my clients as individuals and then use the fundamentals of my business to be a resource, friend, or confidant.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Indeed!!!  Risk is just a part of the game.  In September of 2021, I took the risk of leaving my full-time job to pursue my real estate career. I was beyond nervous, but with the support of my family, friends, colleagues, and brokers/owners, I was able to walk away confidently. I didn’t know what either side of this life would hold but quitting wasn’t an option. However, if I increased my work ethic and determination, everything would work out in my favor. I’m still learning a lot, but showing up is half the battle. I also learned from being in customer service for 16+ years that you must treat people with care, along with understanding the needs of others. With that mindset, I knew I would do just fine.
