Daily Inspiration: Meet Shika Nicole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shika Nicole.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
All my life I was bullied because of my slim frame. Not only was I being bullied often but I was also complemented by others that didn’t know me. I was suggested multiple times that I should utilize my slim frame and start modeling.

Since the age of 15, I became a published model in 12 different magazines, 37 high fashion runway shows, 102 photo shoots, and to date 5 movies starring on HBO and BET. Though over the years I still was not satisfied nor accepting of the small frame I wanted a change.

Seven years ago, I was told I could put on weight by eating 5 meals a day and lifting weights. It was hard to believe because I thought going to the gym was for those who wanted to lose weight. For 7 years straight, I remain consistent and changed my diet, and instantly began to see results. I was more afraid that the amount of work I put into the gym would transform me into looking manly.

But actually, it helps defend my body more as a woman than I thought. Last year I decided to build a career base on my own body struggles to help other women fight against body shaming and focus on becoming their own body goals. This helps me develop my brand “Body Goalz By Shika Nicole”. It has become the best decision I’ve ever made mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Body Goalz is created for all body types! To help women understand that no matter what size you are you can transform your body to your own satisfaction without the judgment of others or the torture of social media. All it takes is a little knowledge of your body type, strength capability, and consistency towards your ultimate body goal.

Where I am today with my life will help a lot of women become a better version of themselves. Their future self will thank me for it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth ride the entire 7 years.

There have been times I wanted to give up because I wasn’t seeing results right away. I would stop for months at a time because mentally the words I’m used to being bullied with would play on repeat in my mind. I would even think the trainers I was working with didn’t know what they were doing.

It was either I was losing more weight while they were training me or I felt like they didn’t know what they were doing altogether. So I decided to dig deep and do the research and studies myself. Once I became more educated in my field of physical training and nutrition I immediately began to see results.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Women’s Health and Fitness Coaching. I am most proud of how much I’ve accomplished by being able to tell my story and live through and so I can help other women feel better about themselves regardless of how cruel the world can be.

If you want better for yourself then you want the right coach to see you through it all. I AM THAT COACH! I have been through it all and social media can be brutal too. But I want to be able to let the ladies know that surgery isn’t the only answer. It’s the journey in the process that makes it all worth the effort.

What sets me apart from others is that I’m in this because I’ve been in it! Not for the money, not for the attention, it’s because I was once just like you. Not happy with the way I look so I wanted a change. I am passionate about what I do because honestly, I am still on my journey as well.

So why not do this together with a coach as well that is still growing. It’s nothing like having a partner and you can motivate each other right?! I enjoy what I do and I love the end results with not just myself but with my clients as well.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Definitely self-discipline, consistency, the desire to improve, and patience! Without these qualities in life period wouldn’t allow you to succeed.
