Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Wheelock.
Hi Jim, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been an avid music fan for as long as I can remember. About 10 years ago, I got heavily involved in record collecting. As a result, I have an amassed a large collection. I attend record shows, visit local shops, flea markets, and yard sales looking to grow my collection. I have recently started selling select choices from my collection through my eBay site as well as an Instagram account, @vinyl_recycle
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I find joy in the “hunt” for rare and unique records. I really haven’t encountered any struggles. It’s all fun for me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work full-time in the restaurant industry. My part-time job is my record selling business. I’m most proud when people that buy a record from me, tell me how excited they are to receive it. What sets me apart is my passion to find the most unique and rare records out there and then find them a good home.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I really believe that individuals create their own luck and that hard work does pay off. If you want something then you have to go out and make it happen!
