Daily Inspiration: Meet Autarchii

Today we’d like to introduce you to Autarchii .

Hi Autarchii, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born into music, given that my father (Donovan Joseph) is a recording artist, and I’m a cousin to the crown prince of Reggae music, Dennis Brown. My story has many layers, but it all boils down to a revolutionary youth evolving and sharing melodic stories. I’m simply a ghetto youth from Christian Pen in Jamaica that’s now on the verge of making a true impact.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Struggles I’ve had in music include a producer standing me up at the studio for hours, recording songs for people who don’t put them out because they prefer the hype, and having a solid project but not having a feasible budget to promote. A lot more struggles but with a powerful and creative mind, I always overcome them. It hasn’t been a smooth road, but life is never entirely smooth, so I roll with the punches.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a recording artist, popularly known as Autarchii. Individually, I am most proud of the number of quality works released with Autarchii on the Red A Red Music Group label and their impact on people’s lives thus far. Educating people through melodic means while they have fun is a skill that I’ve become great at and plan to master soon.

Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share? We’re always looking for lessons we can learn in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis.
Appreciate life for what it is and have gratitude. The system, with all its demands, tends to have us running up and down daily. Hence, the reality of Covid-19 slowed down my movements and allowed me to recoup and meditate away from the crowd.
