Daily Inspiration: Meet Arthur Reyes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arthur Reyes.

Hi Arthur, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Stockton, CA, native/Sacramento transplant Arthur Reyes isn’t easy to pin down.

When he isn’t busy conjuring up nightmare fuel for his latest screenplay or short story collection, you’ll find him performing a self-exorcism via paintbrush. Having been exposed to untold violence as a youth, Arthur has a deep, dark well from which to still draw inspiration.

Horrific, hallucinogenic, and wild, his dusky-palette, mixed-media pieces deliver the rawness of reveries—decidedly disturbing and yet instilled with the beauty of balance and the power of cryptic passion.

Arthur’s gothic-impressionism—brimming with death and broken luck—invites the viewer to peel back a layer or two of their soul and peer inside . . .

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being an artist is not always an easy road but if you have a passion for art you will do it regardless. Personally I do. Is it smooth? The road is not always smooth but it’s a road I chose and I am completely excited to see where it leads!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make films, three so far, and do paintings and I write books, mostly I’m the horror genre.

My film Psychopomp was picked up by the distribution company Gravitas Ventures and is currently on different platforms like Amazon Prime, Tubi, Apple Tv and more.

My third book, an anthology with 11 stories called evil Marshmallow’s campfire tales is now on Amazon Kindle.

What sets me apart is my drive and ability to make content that doesn’t try to compete with the giant billion dollar entertainment industry but instead strives to be unique and create works that like minded people that seek alternative entertainment can enjoy.
