Today we’d like to introduce you to Amos Malone.
Amos, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2004, I starting driving doing MTA paratransit, then in 2008 I started driving for yellow cab company; around 2014 I started thinking about starting my own transportation company; then in 2016 of September, I stepped out on faith in jumped with my company named amostransportationllc. Now also my wife & I have a driving school as well that just started in 2020 of February. www.advancedrivenow.com
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh yeah, sure it has been smooth 🙂 No, it’s been an uphill journey, but very good hands on experience in this crazy DMV small business world, especially dealing with Maryland State taxes & laws.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m so proud of where I have came & grown from living in West Baltimore of Lexington terrace and growing up in southeast Washington DC (Barry Farm’s Area). I was a street kid and no college education but a great ambition to want more & better for my life. I worked some many different job’s in always gave my a & best, but I still felt that wasn’t enough – until I got into the cab business. Those years in the cab business prepared me for the small transportation I was about to swing right into. And I love what I do.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was born in Baltimore, MD. In 1973 & I love to play sport’s & be outside. When I was growing up, I did not like school, just money & girls. I also didn’t have any dreams, focus or purpose in life until 1997, when my first daughter Imani d. Malone was born. I still had lots of growing up to do but having my 1st. Child slowed me down a little.
