Conversations with Sheqera Carrothers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheqera Carrothers.

Hi Sheqera, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Becoming a Foodie wasn’t planned; it just happened. My biggest fan is my Angel and everything was his favorite so I decided to keep it going no matter what it takes, I wish I could say that this journey has been easy but it wasn’t and still isn’t,

The only thing that matters is that I am doing something that I love, when I see the smile on my customer’s faces when they receive their orders that’s what’s keeping me going my love for smiles and their love for food, that is why I became Foodies.

Before Foodies, I worked for several employers in the fast-food business/health care making sure to gain a substantial amount of knowledge in order to be able to run, manage, operate a business one day, working my way from crew to assistant manager, certified nutritionist, dietitian, bartender.

Sometimes starting from nothing is everything starting a restaurant out of pocket wasn’t planned, but if it’s your dream and you believe in it, that’s all that matters.

❤️ Foodiesfood.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, some obstacles that I’ve faced along the way was dealing with credit, funding, finding a lender, or just people with the same mindset that would be willing to work together.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love playing with food, no matter if it’s recreating a recipe or creating a new one of my own, I am known for good food, great service. I am most proud of the fact that I am versatile with my cooking, I am the recipe I just love to create it I don’t have time to write it down, I would love to say something that sets me apart from others is my love to be adventurous with food.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve had a lot of bad luck in my life but who hasn’t? Luck is something that can’t be prevented.

More bad than good, as long as you have a dream and a goal, I say luck is what you make it.
