Hi Katharine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I opened Paper in the Park in 2007 as a retail invitation, paper and gift store in Severna Park. The model successfully morphed into a business specializing in custom design. In 2020, the impact of the pandemic led us to close the retail side and continue our award-winning custom design business online. We focus mainly on invitations, announcements and graphic design.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning your own business is never smooth, but when you learn from your mistakes and continue to move forward, your business just becomes stronger.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
People are looking for unique – they want the trends, but something designed just for them. This is what I love to do, read people and determine what they are really looking for. We nail it almost all of the time. This is reflected in our 14 years of business and unique designs.
