Today we’d like to introduce you to DeAngelo Xavier .
Hi DeAngelo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started writing music a few years after I graduated from high school. I have always been fluent in poetry, so the gift of wordplay and rhyme scheme has always been my talent. I just never put it to use musically until then.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At first, I honestly couldn’t rap on beats. I couldn’t catch the tempo. It took me about a year or so to fully understand how to “ride the beat.” And when I finally learned, it was nothing but clear skies.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a recording artist (hip hop) and songwriter. I’m truly proud of my originality. I don’t follow gimmicks. I’m true to myself and believe that no one can be you except you.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check?
Honestly, the music itself is my resource. I listen to music 24/7. It’s part of my sanity.
