Conversations with Cidra Alabrash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cidra Alabrash.

Hi Cidra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a nineteen year old photographer based in Baltimore, Maryland. I graduated high school in 2020. From my sophomore year to my senior year in high school, I was taking a photography class. After my sophomore year, I bought myself my camera. When I bought my camera, my intention was just to use it when I went out to capture memories with my friends and family. I never intended to start taking photography seriously and start a business with my camera. I started my photography page in 2019 on Instagram (@cidrasperspective) and my business has grown more and more ever since then.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a relatively smooth road, the hardest part of my journey was when I really started having more and more clients, I was out of high school, so any questions I had, I had to figure them out on my own. But in this day and age, the internet has all the answers you need, I just had to put time in to find out the answers to my questions.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer, I specialize in portraiture. I am most proud of my growth and how far my work has grown and the improvements I have made with the quality of my work over the years, Something that sets me apart from others is that I try my best to make my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera and I take every shoot as serious as I can to ensure they get my best work and the best quality ever. I don’t ever rush my clients.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was a quiet kid. I took a very long time to start talking. I also used to draw as a kid showing some creativity. I am one of four kids, I spent all of my time with my siblings and they were my friends. I didn’t have lots of friends growing up, I hung out with my twin brother the most.
