Conversations with Brittany Keller Graham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Keller Graham.

Brittany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been in love with all things creative since I can remember. I would sketch models and new clothing designs from a really young age and pretty much just love to be a part of any creative process. I saw my first design brought to life when I was in high school when I designed my best friend’s prom dress. I continued to indulge in all things creative and soon ventured into coordinating fashion shows which featured some of my designs. By the time I finished college I decided to learn how to sew from videos and some guidance from my friend’s Godmother.

Once I learned to sew it progressed from there and I did items for friends and myself. In 2016 I gave birth to my first daughter who I also lost in that same year. While grieving I found comfort in creativity again and decided to start a business in my daughter’s honor named Brylee Muse with Keller Nichelle. My business started with custom-designed clothing and slowly I have added more items such as ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, and various body products.

I believe that when you are wearing something you love, it can make you feel good from the inside out and that’s what I love to do through creativity. Recently we have gone through a name change. Our new name is B Keller Nichelle. The name change is to embody what our business is all about. Keller Nichelle is a person who is strong and powerful not specific to male or female. When you wear our clothes or use our body products I want you to feel good and exude confidence strongly and powerfully.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Starting a business with no guidance can be rough when trying to have everything in place and do it the right way. Also, if I’m being transparent there are a lot of times that you second guess yourself about what the next move should be.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in custom-designed and made clothing, ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, and body products. I am most proud of how much I have grown in my designs and how I have pushed through any hardships within the business.

What sets me apart from others is that I am aware that every custom design customer will be different and I listen to what they need in a design to offer them something they will love but that is still true to me. I love to create a space where I and the client can both be happy and comfortable with the finished design and a personal experience that is memorable.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is creating items that make people feel good from body care to clothing. This is important to me because at times I have struggled with self-esteem and when I take time for self-care I feel better. My body products offer the relaxation part of the self-care and finishing by wearing a great fashion piece boosts my mood and I want to offer that to others.
