Today we’d like to introduce you to Tira Grant.
Hi Tira, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a single mother of two 23-year-old (Kaitlyn) and a19 year old (Jaden) and a GiGi to a 10-month-old (Blake). Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, I started my business in 2017. After years of planning and decorating, I decided to focus on my passion more seriously when a co-worker asked me to help him with planning his wedding. It was then, I fell in love with the logistics and design that goes into planning events and weddings.
My first step was to find a mentor, someone I admired in the industry. I signed up for a six-week program. The biggest takeaway I received from the program was networking. I found myself at some form of industry event every weekend meeting and connecting with new people.
I then jumped into securing a name for my business. The crazy thing is, as a child I was never fond of my middle name, however the name Tira Lynn seemed to fit. And my grandfather would often call me by my first and middle name. Therefore, every time I say the name of my business, I hear his voice in my ear.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am blessed by the journey. It has not been a smooth road, but it has certainly been a learning adventure. My first struggle was securing clients and creating content. Coming up with a business process, packages, pricing, advertising, etc.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
The individuals who deserve credit in my journey are my mom, god mother, and my best friend/assistant coordinator. In January 2020, my best friend and assistant coordinator, Chrystal passed suddenly due to EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). Chrystal was an intricate part to the success of Tira Lynn Events. I am forever grateful for their continued prayers and support.
