Community Highlights: Meet Robyn Estwick and Pam Wilks of Wilks Home Team Execuhome Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Estwick and Pam Wilks.

Hi Robyn and Pam, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Pam Wilks: I started my real estate career in July 2001. My background was in sales/IT and although it was very financially rewarding it was not fulfilling. I started my personal homebuying journey for the current home that I live in and found the process to be intriguing! The seller at that time refused to work with a Realtor, so I proceeded to do the transaction on my own, working directly with the seller. It was a learning process for sure! And it evolved into the beginning of my real estate career.

I decided to quit my sales job, and become a full-time Realtor! Fast forward to now, I have been licensed for 20 years, and have never looked back! My daughter Robyn, who had an extensive background in corporate America, decided to join me five years ago and we have been a power team ever since! We have recently expanded our team and officially added a newly licensed agent Ste Lawrence! We are excited to continue to grow.

Robyn Estwick: I have 12+ years of experience in Customer Service/Sales and Management. I spent years fine-tuning and growing my corporate business acumen as I planned on retiring with that company. I think fate had another path for me! I just simply was not happy coming into the office every day. I felt stuck! One day my mom called me and told me she could really use some help with real estate!

I slept on it, prayed on it, and decided I was ready for this major life change! The next day I turned in my two-week notice! I spent the next two weeks being an admin for my mom, and then I decided to get licensed as a Realtor. Almost six years later, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity as I am finally fulfilled doing something I love every single day.

I have no regrets! I am officially a business partner for the Wilks Home Team and we truly love doing business together! Our clients love us! We are excited about growing as a team and bringing on new powerful agents!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a relatively smooth road! Outside of the general ups and downs of real estate. Especially the last couple of years with the current pandemic has caused a bit of uncertainty with the market. Also, realizing that we could not do everything on our own, and ultimately hired an administrative assistant/transaction coordinator.

This has been one of the best decisions that we have made so that we could focus on taking on more clients and expanding our business. Otherwise, we do not face certain challenges that other teams often times have because we have a strong foundation and commitment to each other and our business!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
You should know that we are both full-time Realtors with an intense passion to help our clients with all of their real estate needs. We have expertise in negotiating the best offers for our buyers and sellers that put their needs and wants first! We are known for being a family team that promotes homeownership and generational wealth.

All of our clients share the same feedback to us, that they love that we are a mother-daughter team, they love our responsiveness, our attention to detail, that they can always reach one of us at any time during the day or night, and that we take a selfless approach going above and beyond for all of our clients! We do not treat any of our clients any differently! No matter how big or small the transaction is, everyone gets the same care.

We work with all clients with a broad range of real estate interests including but not limited to investors, renters, first-time home buyers, sellers, new construction, land, we do it all, and we do it with passion!

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Robyn: I believe that in life, there is no reward if there is no risk! We both took major risks getting started in our real estate careers. Leaving our high-paying/safe corporate jobs to venture into this uncertain industry was frightening! We both had to trust our skill and trust the process which has been very rewarding!

Over the years, we’ve acquired several rental properties and have also flipped multiple properties. Being a landlord can be challenging in itself, however, we’ve been able to leverage our experience and sustain and grow our portfolio. Risk-taking is important in general to growth, whether business or personal.
