Hi there, thank you for having me! My journey into the world of beauty is a story close to my heart. It all began with a fascination for makeup—an art form that captivated me with its ability to transform not just appearances but also spirits. Growing up, I was surrounded by creativity and a deep sense of encouragement to pursue what brought me joy. This encouragement ignited a passion within me to blend creativity with a career that could make a positive impact on people’s lives.”
Over a decade ago, I took a leap into the beauty industry, eager to learn and immerse myself in every facet of this mesmerizing world. Alongside this professional journey, I embraced the joys of parenthood, learning profound lessons in empathy, patience, and the remarkable power of boosting confidence through enhancing one’s appearance.
For me, beauty isn’t skin-deep; it’s about fostering inner confidence that radiates outward. This belief fuels my commitment to creating personalized experiences for my clients. Yearly certifications in eyebrow, eyeliner, and lip treatments are more than just credentials—they signify my unwavering dedication to providing the absolute best.
My journey has been a tapestry of growth, self-discovery, and an unwavering desire to make a difference. This path has brought me immense fulfillment and allowed me to weave artistry into every stroke, creating transformations that go beyond appearances. In both of my roles as a devoted mother and a master in my craft, I’m driven by the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me. Whether it’s nurturing my children’s growth or empowering my clients with newfound confidence, I am dedicated to creating lasting impressions that leave a mark on their hearts.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey hasn’t been a smooth one. In my early years, I didn’t have much to rely on. My mom worked long hours, leaving me with plenty of time to ponder and dream about the person I aspired to become. I have always been ambitious since I was a child – It took me some time to stumble upon the world of permanent makeup believe it or not.
My background has always been in the beauty industry. I started as a receptionist in a nail salon at a young age, eventually obtaining my license and working on nails and lashes for several years. I even took the bold step of opening my salon at the age of 21, managing ten technicians. However, when I became pregnant with my daughter, my priorities shifted, and I yearned for a career with greater flexibility to prioritize time with her.
I realized that there weren’t many options for working less while earning more, so I made the difficult decision to sell my salon. It allowed me to spend a year at home with my daughter and I went back to the drawing board. It was during this period that I embarked on my first permanent makeup course. Regrettably, it left me feeling lost, and I didn’t achieve what I had hoped for. I learned that not all training programs are created equal. So, I decided to pivot and explore real estate instead.
During this time, my son had just been born, and a little over a year later, after a couple of deals and a significant investment of time and money down the drain, I realized I needed more. I wanted more. This prompted me to take another training program for permanent makeup. This time, I was determined not to give up. I knew I needed this to work, and I went all in, dedicating myself 1000 percent. The effort I put in returned to me tenfold.
Fast forward to now, I am a well-known PMU artist in Maryland, with a 950 sq ft space, a thriving Academy, a long list of clients… and the best part? I’m always home for dinner and bedtime routines. I love my life.
