Today we’d like to introduce you to Dessmond Brown.
Hi Dessmond, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
27inc started while I was in college. My roommate was taking up photography and needed a hand with his assignment. While helping I joking said that I could take better pictures. he lent me his camera and the began my love for photography. As the years went by, I used my family and friends to practice on in order to gain experience and knowledge. In 2016, I had my first paying client. and they loved the energy that I brought. Since then, my work has been spread word of mouth to gradually give me consistent work to continue to improve and perfect my craft.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. There are always doubts that you get off if your work is good enough. It people will pay for your craft. Most of the struggles are within myself and once I began to move past the doubt I was able to move so much further in my career. Consistency is the Key.

27 Inc Photography is a small black-owned business born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. We personalize every shoot to give you the best outcome. We want you to feel confident about your appearance. We help you. Gian confidence that you did not even knew you had. We specialize in portrait, group portraits, and headshots. We provide great customer service and reassurance of the service that you are being given. We are most proud of the models that we work with that become published from our sessions. We are currently running a program to help new models and new business. We help with the basic needs of a model for them to successful start their career (Headshots model cards, etc.). For business, we build a basic needs and wants and design a program specifically for them!.

Jeff Martian from SkyloftF studios has been an inspiration as well as a mentor even if he doesn’t know it. He will commonly drop information of facts to help with my progress. My Wife Anjanise B is my biggest supporter and partner, all wrapped into one. She will always will push me to do better and be the most excited over little accomplishments. She is the brain behind most of my contracts and wording on agreements. She is the person who goes over every single detail to make sure all the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed.
