Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Stewart.
Hi Allison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
As a former preschool teacher, I was privileged enough to assist families in the beginning stages of their family’s development. After almost 20 years of teaching, supporting, & empowering other parents, I welcomed my own child into the world and felt the call to support families in a different way. I wanted to be there to help them navigate the big step of welcoming their baby into the world as a doula (aka birth coach). I see pregnancy, birth, and the growth of a family as one of the most exciting and sacred times in our lives. I feel honored to be invited into the sacred space of the growing family. I truly believe in a village and am honored to hold space within it.
I also have the privilege of supporting those who are birth workers, birth photographers, holistic practitioners, doulas, trainers, and others build their business to better serve their clients. It has truly been a wonderful experience having an impact on maternal health, being able to help create positive birthing experiences, and encouraging the amazing people who serve families.
My company, the Blackbee Hive Collective (which is the home for my two other companies, Blackbee Media, LLC and Let’s Doula This, LLC), is a space where people could thrive and live a little better every day. It’s a space where they can
achieve their goals and pursue the things that make their lives happier and healthier. I truly believe that if you empower Individuals and strengthen families, you can change the world.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There’re always obstacles when you’re starting something new. You have to be willing to try new things, create new routines, and change what isn’t working in
order to reach your goals. Being able to look at yourself, without judgment, and make necessary changes to move forward, is such an important skill for entrepreneurs to possess. It can be difficult, but it could mean the difference in moving forward or continuing to do things that don’t work to grow your mission.
I wear many hats, but being a mother is my most important one. During the pandemic, I have learned a lot throughout the many ups and downs in building my coaching business. With no child care, I have learned to be intentional with my time and planning, so that I can be my most successful self. With a young child, every day looks different, nothing is very static. So, I have learned to plan accordingly and stick to our routine as much as possible. I may not hit each daily goal I have, but sometimes, the most important thing is that we’re all safe, happy, and healthy. I take my wins and celebrate them as they come while remaining flexible and wise with the time I have.
As I build this new life for me and my family, I surround myself with a community that encourages me through the good and bad times of entrepreneurship. New possibilities arise when you allow yourself to grow in new ways. There’s always something to learn from your experiences, and while the journey may be bumpy at times, I have found that maintaining successful routines and executing a plan can work wonders.
Here are some things I’ve learned along the way:
- Be flexible.
- Tackle a big obstacle by breaking it down and approach it one step at a time. 3. Believe in your abilities, you’re amazing!
- Write a detailed plan and rework it as needed.
- Every day is another chance to be your best.
On the Touch of Honey podcast on Blackbee Radio, I share my tips and encouraging lessons that I’ve learned along this journey.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Blackbee Hive Collective?
The Blackbee Hive Collective is a space where individuals and families can thrive. It is the home base for my two companies, Blackbee Media, LLC and Let’s Doula This, LLC. In addition to my radio station, Blackbee Radio, I offer coaching experiences to support clients as they prepare for the next level of
their lives. As a birth coach, I support families as they welcome their new babies into the world and become parents. I also serve as a growth and development coach for individuals and heart-centered business owners that serve families. We work together as they grow, personally as well as professionally.
I am most proud of the personalized coaching I provide. Sometimes in life, you just need someone to support you as you head into life-changing spaces. I am honored to be able to support clients in such intimate moments in their lives. Whether it is in the birthing space or overcoming obstacles in your life or business, within my coaching experiences, you’re able to confidently reach your next level with unbiased information, customized plans, and accountability support.
I’d like my brand to be known for truly helping people live better each day. You can accomplish great things when you feel like someone is in your corner, working to support and empower you. I offer free resources, blogs, podcasts, and much more to support my community. It’s time for something new, it’s time
to support individuals and families so they can flourish. I believe we all thrive in the hive!
Any big plans?
There’s so much I’m excited to share with my clients and audience! I’ve been busy creating new content, packages, and educational resources to support the needs of my clients.
I look forward to helping even more families and individuals, virtually and in person, as they navigate the birth and parenting world with my new support packages. During the pandemic, I’ve worked with parents to prepare and plan for policy and life changes, while helping them to feel grounded and empowered in their rights and options during childbirth. So many lives are impacted when a baby comes into the world. It’s important that those impacted feel they have a safe and supportive space to adjust.
I also have new growth & development coaching packages, new content, and so much new information to share! My first retreat is coming up soon, and I’ve got a few new classes and workshops for children, as well as adults, on the way as well! I’m so blessed and honored to be able to support clients as they reach new heights of success and growth.
