Check Out Shawn Valentino’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Valentino.

Hi Shawn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I grew up in Sterling Heights, MI as an only child with big dreams. My heroes growing up were Walt Disney, Hugh Hefner, and Vince McMahon. They inspired me to life a lifestyle of fun and fantasy. I dreamed of making movies that would give people an escape from their daily lives. When I moved to LA to go to law school, I was excited to be able to fulfill my dreams. I traveled the world and have been to over 80 countries. I partied at the Playboy Mansion. Now I make movies in beautiful locations around the globe and showcase the bachelor fantasy lifestyle. I have a place in Baltimore as a return to my roots of living in a more quiet suburban neighborhood as a base in between traveling the world and making movies.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a smooth road because I’ve always been very focused on the type of lifestyle I wanted. I never wanted to get married or have kids or have a traditional job. I always wanted the fun and freedom of the playboy lifestyle. I wanted to do things I’ve loved such as writing books and making movies and throwing major events like beauty pageants. Unlike most people, I’ve fulfilled my dreams.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a movie producer of a series of movies that are parodies of The Bachelor and other famous movies such as Star Wars, Mission: Impossible, The Godfather, It’s a Wonderful Life, and other classics. Our first two movies were The Bachelor Party: The Playboy’s Impossible Mission and The Bachelor Party 2: It’s a Wonderful Lifestyle. I’m excited to release our latest movie, The Bachelor Murder Mystery: Who Murdered the Bachelor, the latest in The Bachelor Franchise. I play the bachelor in the movies, and it is obviously the dream role because I get to work with gorgeous girls and travel the world.

I’ve also done talk shows and reality shows like Fear Factor, Dr. Phil Show, Tyra Banks Show, etc. Vice did a documentary on me called The Showstopper: The Next Hugh Hefner. That caught the attention of a couple film producers in Los Angeles, Tremain Hayhoe, and Rich Twilling, and we’ve worked together ever since.

I also wrote a 300-page self-help book, The Showstopper Lifestyle. I’m proud of my creative achievements following in the footsteps of my hero Hugh Hefner.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Yes, I think you should combine looking within the people in your own life with the people you admire in pop culture. Obviously, the people who know you have the most influence in shaping who you are, but sometimes the people you idolize might inspire you to new heights. I’ve tried to structure my goals around my lifestyle and have made connections networking during those pursuits. I think most people are afraid to put themselves out there and are focused on what they feel they should do instead of what they really want to do. I’ve been fortunate in having the Playboy Mansion be like a second home so that was the perfect venue to meet my type of people. I’ve also collaborated with some incredible artists making movies. I think if you create your own productions that excite other people then it will connect you with a strong network.
