Check Out Raven, Ryan, and LaToya of WineDineRepeat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven, Ryan, and LaToya.

Hi Raven, Ryan, and LaToya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a collective of 30-something professional African American women who came together as fast friends over food and drink at Yelp events. We are brand ambassadors and up-and-coming influencers on the fast-growing Baltimore food scene.

Our goals are to (1) support local business, (2) provide quality events at hidden gems and bustling favorites all around Baltimore City and collaborate with local individuals, businesses, or organizations to make those events as diverse and dynamic as possible, and (3) encourage young professionals, not unlike ourselves, to live their best lives which, at least for us, usually includes food and wine!

In addition to our own event hosting, we also will be rolling out a newsletter with details about restaurant and bar happenings, including but not limited to openings, closing, anniversaries, parties, and special events. It will be a guide for low- to no-cost local events. Our target demographic is other young professionals, particularly women because we tend to be the ones who have a harder time relaxing and finding time for ourselves.

Wine.Dine.Repeat is for the 20-something proving themselves at their first job, it’s for the single mom who finally got a minute to sneak away, for the newcomer looking to explore Baltimore, the newlyweds who grew up in the suburbs and just got their first apartment in the city, and for native that has yet to see what the “new” Baltimore is all about.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was easy joining the foodie community in Baltimore because everyone is so inviting. It was clear to us that there was a need for a space for women of color in the Baltimore food scene that wasnt being met so that made building our WDR community organic.

Our love of food and growing appreciation for the Baltimore food scene led us to create an Instagram account highlighting meals from our favorite restaurants, bars, and events. Our want to create space and place for people like us led us to start hosting our own events.

We now have many events series throughout the year including Summer Socials, Brews & Chews, and Vino + Vittles. IG is where the road gets bumpy, them changing the algorithms without notice, rhyme or reason is something we constantly have to work around in order to reach our audience

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Ryan is a Baltimore native currently working as a project manager within the CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid) space. She has been working in this industry for the last 7 plus years and is known for her conflict resolution skills which she has honed as a certified mediator for the state of Maryland for the past five years where she helps people resolve conflict in whether it be in their personal or professional lives.

LaToya is a transplant from East Cleveland Ohio and after having an 11+ year successful career in student housing she transitioned into a second career where she gets to merge her passion for helping people with her love of public transit. As a project manager for Community Relations with MDOT MTA, she gets to work closely with the citizens of Maryland to help meet the basic need of getting people where they need to go.

Raven hails from sunny and sprawling southern California and moved to Baltimore in the summer of 2011 from Atlanta (where she had lived for three years after graduating from college). Raven is passionate about urban planning, design, and food; the common thread between these things is bringing people together. In her day job, she works towards solving socio-economic issues by assisting small businesses on Baltimore City’s commercial corridors.

As you can see we are all busy in our respective careers but Wine.Dine.Repeat is a passion project that the three of us commit time to, after our day jobs because of our love of Baltimore and all things food and wine.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Our dedication to highlighting and supporting local businesses in the Baltimore city area is key to our success. We live here, we buy here, we thrive here.
