Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamirah Williams.
Hi Kamirah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From the age of fifteen, I became attracted to the beauty and skincare industry. I experimented and started a skincare regimen that truly made my skin glow. My skin attracted the attention of many family and friends. Even strangers would ask me for recommendations and or advice.
It was at those moments that I realized how much I loved skincare and what a special profession it is. My love for esthetics and strong desire to help people led me to start using any free time I had between work and college to expand my knowledge of products and the many different esthetic services available.
Soon after, I became employed at several salons, working my way to the top! After exploring different career options over the years, It became evident that there wasn’t any other profession for me. So I enrolled myself in an esthetician program, graduated, and received my license this year. Now I’m doing what I love all the time!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been an easy road to becoming an esthetician. At one point in my life, I became a little lost. What I was majoring in college was not what I really loved.
But I’m not a person that quits so I graduated with my degree. After switching my career path to esthetics, the obstacles then became balancing two jobs, school, and family responsibilities.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed skincare professional that specializes in hair removal (wax and sugar), also clearing, brightening, and beautifying the skin. I am known for my brow work, lash work, hair removal services, perfecting plant peel services (a natural, gentle alternative to a chemical peel). I’m so passionate about what I do and I always have a good time with my clients.
I genuinely enjoy their company and look forward to their next visit with me. I like to make their experience fun and to make my studio a vibe. I feel like that’s what sets me apart from other estheticians.
Whatever my client’s skin needs, I make it happen for them. Everyone who has come to see me says they will not go anywhere else and has not had the experience I consistently give them. They are so loyal and I’m loyal to them. I’m so proud to say that I have much more coming everyone’s way that I’m currently working on. Stay tuned!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I learned to never stop trying because prayer, patience, and timing is key. If you have a plan, you’re motivated, organized, patient, even if your support system is small, things in life will eventually turn around and at the right time.
