Check Out Kadesha Powell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kadesha Powell.

Hi Kadesha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I joined a 30-day writing challenge hosted by best-selling author Naleighna Kai. I was assigned a best-selling book coach, line and content editor, and a beta reader. My debut memoir, “Growing up Joplin” will be released on Friday, June 25, 2021.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main struggle has been that I’ve always wanted to write a book, I’ve been told many times to write my life story. I am a huge procrastinator and need to have accountability. I found that with Naleighna Kai’s Tribe Called Success. I had to fight fear and my own self-doubt, like will anyone want or care about my story? It’s a story we don’t often see or hear about.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I enjoy writing and I’m proud that I’ve seen my memoir to completion and ready to publish. My story, one of a few African Americans raised in Joplin, Missouri, a predominantly white town in the Midwest. I wasn’t raised in poverty and Black trauma but experienced racism and microaggression in my personal and professional life.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out? and her Tribe called Success and Calvacade of Authors.
