Check Out Dylan Scanlon’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dylan Scanlon.

Hi Dylan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all began in high school, I’ve always been inspired by various of streetwear brands like off white, palm angels, vlone, revenge, and many more. When I became a senior, I bought a sketchbook and started to draw anything that I seen or felt internally about and make it into art. One day I had a desire to become someone that people would recognize right of the internet and off the street, so I wanted to think of a name that was meaningful, simple, and also something people could relate to. After many attempts on finding a name the one that stood out the most was Hollow, thus the brand was born.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say that there were a few obstacles that came across my path when starting this business. I wasn’t sure how to put my design on the shirt, how to make a website, how to advertise, and market my brand, how fund my brand and how to package and ship my product to customers.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the brand ambassador, and designer for hollow clothing brand, we are a streetwear clothing brand that can branch out to different garments from hats, all the way to the pants. What I am most proud of is when I made my first shirt, which is the black and white design. I would say what sets me apart from other brands is the different styles and genres of my design where it’s different from the last.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I would highly recommend looking at Shopify tips and tricks on how to market and promote your brand, also looking up on YouTube and hearing advice from people who have already build their brand.
