Carlissia’s love for Video came from love at first sight of the editing software Final Cut Pro in high school. Since then, she has continued her dream as a visual storyteller. She then became the director assistant to the Recording, Arts, Media, and Production program at Douglass HS, where she gained her skills in 2016.

After that journey, she branched off in 2019 to begin her Youth Whisper3r program once she fell in love with mentoring and teaching. Carlissia “Midg3” Young is the owner of the company name is Midg3t Productionz “Little In-Person Big in Visual,” where she specialized in video editing, documentaries, commercials, including all of your visual needs. Midg3t Productionz does photography as well as creates promotional printing materials for businesses. Carlissia is the director of the Youth Whisper3r Program, where she “Teaches Life Lessons Behind the Lens,” giving the youth a platform for self-expression through Video Production, knowing they are provided with nurturing ear through the process to express their emotions as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy journey through the process. Carlissia has learned from multiple experiences in business from time management, social skills, as well as knowing your worth. I believe if you’re not learning, you’re not living, so she continues to take those blessings and turn them into lessons because life blessings have shown her there is still hope at the end of the road. The biggest lesson was learning how to deal with Baltimore’s life unfortunate realities and learn how to keep moving because so many times I’ve faced those life realities and still continue to see the light of my dream.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Midg3t Productionz specializes in video editing, capturing special moments, help a business turn their visions into a visual experience. As well as photography and graphic design. Youth Whisp3rer program teaches life lessons behind the lens to help youth expression.

I am most proud of realizing my worth and continuing my dreams, turning my life into a reality. What sets me apart is I am truly passionate about my career. I edit with my heart. When I edit a cut, I smile. As well as the fact I don’t just entire these youth lives for the moment but knowing “Ms. Young” is a part of their life help me sees what sets me apart from others.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Be who you are and don’t sell yourself short for others.
