Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Garland.
Hi Lisa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up, we always had family gatherings, and food was a big part of those gatherings. When I got older and had my own family, I kept the tradition going, and my love for not only cooking but fellowship grew stronger. So much so that I would just host dinners, cookouts, and brunches at my house, even after becoming an empty nester.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth, not always. Some challenges? Let’s see, of course the number one challenge is money to market and stay afloat. Most recently added to the struggle is the cost of food due to the pandemic. Clients, potential clients and especially friends not understanding the effects of inflation is a huge challenge. However, I’ve come to an understanding that “my price is my price”!!!. And it comes with more than food, it includes the ambiance, the servers, and the experience and I’m better today with understanding the value of my business.

BrunchMELSG started with only wanting to offer Brunch but has expanded to customized-to-order catering service specializing in Brunch cuisine. We are fit to handle every occasion. We do not only provide food, we create an experience for your guests. The BMLSG Experience sets us apart from other caterers. We work extremely hard to ensure we incorporate an intimate decorative theme of every event. Even If we are just providing a drop-off catering order, we are delivering timely, quality food with food instructions and utensils. We think of everything, so you don’t have to. Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
GOD GETS ALL THE CREDIT! I didn’t think I was going this route, but HE said go, and I’ve been trusting HIM every step of the way! Mr. Steven Garland, my husband. My children, Shaquil, Shaquae, and Najae, are my cheerleaders! My BrunchMeLSG Server Specialist/Staff Nichole, Jeff, Vida, Johnny, also known as the Dream Team, who exceed my training as well as expectation at every event. My Best Friend Catherine Ruiz-Jeffrey, my advocate and Decorator whom I bounce every event with for a sanity check. My Daughter-in Love, Valerie, who is inspired and shares how proud she is of me, which gives me encouragement. My silent business partners, my Grandchildren, Grayson & Anaya, my reason to keep going and leave a legacy.
