Hi Jessica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began over five years ago while working at a residential apartment community.
Our goal was to provide a memorable move-in experience by giving a quality gift basket full of items such as tissue, paper towel, soap, snacks, etc. to save new residents the hassle of tumbling through dozens of boxes for necessities.
Although there are several gift items on the market, I discovered it was difficult to find something that offered exactly what we wanted without a cheap look and didn’t “break the bank”. Our new residents were not only surprised and enjoyed the products, but it kicked off an experience that is unmatched in the residential industry by providing that extra Zest, which is now called “Jessy’s Style”! Over the years, I’ve learned how to capture those “bright eye with huge smile” moments.
Today, we provide gifts for all of life’s special moments for everyone. Gifts by Jessy offers personalized gift baskets, tumblers, mugs, and more to people across the nation.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business has its challenges. It’s much more than creating a product or delivering a service. In the beginning, it was a bit overwhelming trying to navigate funding, marketing, accounting, vendor events, etc. Therefore, I established a structure and quickly learned that I cannot do everything by myself. I found that networking with other industry professionals has helped me to stay abreast to trends and build partnerships.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Gifts by Jessy is known for curating gifts for any occasion. We want to help our customers celebrate Birthdays, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Promotions, etc. Whether a person plans ahead or waits until the last minute to gift shop, Gifts by Jessy has something available. Our online gift shop has ready-to-gift items along with personalized gifts.
I am proud of the work we have accomplished so far. The feedback from our customers has been amazing. One of our clients purchased a customized birthday gift basket for an elderly associate. She sent me a text message that stated, “Another satisfied customer. She loved her gift and was VERY PLEASED to see her name on her bag and other items, especially the mug.” One factor that sets us apart from others is our ability to provide completely customized gift baskets and ship them nationwide. Our team just finished creating a 49ers-themed gift basket for a client for Valentine’s Day!
