Today we’d like to introduce you to Precious Foreman.
Hi Precious, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Of course! Ever since I was little, I’ve loved dressing up and all things beauty. I have two older sisters who were modeling before me, but my first experience modeling was at around age 3. A couple of years later, I really found a love for modeling and acting. Performing was another dream I’ve had since I was younger. I started taking acting classes, and one time, my acting school had a Monologue Night. I looked everywhere, but I still could not seem to find a monologue that suited me. After my mother encouraged me to create my own, I started writing and started filmmaking when I wanted to bring my stories to life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Following my dreams has been very rewarding for me; I am grateful to keep doing what I love and having new experiences. Still, my journey hasn’t been entirely smooth. Performing, creating, and all of my passions take a lot of dedication not only from me but from my family as well. It can be very demanding and we have to make sacrifices. I am endlessly grateful to have parents who support my dreams and are committed to making them happen. Also, it is a huge investment, especially in filmmaking. It can be challenging to find resources, so I am constantly looking and working to make opportunities to reach my goals. Luckily, I have connected with so many incredible people who’ve given me overwhelming support. I’ve learned that when you show up and show out, your gift will make room for you.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love to express myself through performing, speaking, writing, and filmmaking because telling stories is a beautiful way to communicate. I want to use my voice in creative ways to shed light on important topics and share empowering, liberating messages. Some of my biggest goals for the future are to become an EGOT, executive produce a feature film, and go on an international tour. Currently, I am working on creating a new short film. It is my most personal story yet, so I am very proud of myself for coming full circle, and I can’t wait to share the story.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has played a pretty small role in my life. I believe in purpose and destiny, and I have seen more intentional things happen in my life than coincidences.
