Rising Stars: Meet Natasha Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Taylor.

Hi Natasha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My start in my career came from my first role as a Web Producer at BHLDN by Anthropologie. Right out of college with a communications degree, I knew what types of work I enjoyed and what skills I had a natural inclination for. But I still felt as though I hadn’t come across a career path yet that aligned with my passions and skills just yet! I knew that I wanted to support people to be their best selves, lead incredible initiatives and work within a creative team.

From 2019 and onward, I seized as many opportunities as I could to work or attend various events and learn from whoever I could. This led me to work a second job at the box office of a concert venue, Union Transfer, and then an internship with an agency, AB Media group. The biggest takeaway from these hours working are definitely the friends I gained, like-minded individuals who now serve as constant reminders of what’s possible!

Gradually I realized the career path that felt like a perfect fit for this time in my life was Project Management. Out of that realization came my business, NMae Agency, where I began taking on clients for project/task management, operations, and creative consulting. Through my agency, I work exclusively with creatives in the tri-state area! Thanks to starting this (for now) one-gal agency, I’ve been able to gain experience that landed me my first established agency role as a Senior Associate Project Manager at Seer Interactive all while maintaining NMae Agency as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall, I’m fortunate to say that it has been a pretty smooth road. Majority of the difficulty comes from not letting myself get in my own way at times. I’ve had to become very intentional about reflecting on a regular basis (in my work life and personal life!) and always maintaining that growth is the goal. Any mistakes or unexpected paths can serve as a lesson.

I’m extremely thankful that my biggest obstacle so far has been myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m currently a Senior Associate Project Manager at a digital marketing agency, Seer Interactive, and I run my own business, NMae Agency.

My agency, NMae, is where I get to support various creatives in the tri-state. I set up operational systems that are manageable for smalls teams and manage timelines of any projects that come up. Some of these projects have looked like music festivals, merchandise management, album rollouts, and even digital events. Currently, I’m working with two phenomenal musical artists: a rapper, Armani White, and an R&B singer, Vincena!

At Seer, I get to work with a brilliant team of engineers, data analysts, and product managers within our Innovation division. I’m responsible for managing timelines around all of our division’s products, facilitating collaborative meetings, and identifying opportunities for efficiencies in how we operate!

Between both roles I carry, I’m definitely known for my energetic, witty personality that helps me engage pretty well with various groups of people! But I’m most proud when I receive feedback from teammates or clients about process refinements I’ve led that have helped make their workflows easier.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people who know me and work with me probably know that I have tattoos; I have one on my hand that’s obviously visible. But most people may not know that I have around 20 tattoos that makeup two different sleeves (left arm and my entire right side).

And that I have these tattoos because I wanted ultimate autonomy over how my body looks; it’s truly my body; it’s my piece of art. Not to mention I am enamored with the creative mind and process. My favorite pieces are always when I give the artist minimal direction! They’re truly so brilliant and always curate pieces truly meant for me.

Oh people may not know I got a tattoo dedicated to a boy too (even though our parents always say we shouldn’t!) – it was for my younger brother, aka my best friend!
