Hi Dorian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After a 21 Year career with 7-Eleven, I decided to go into Coaching and Consulting. During my career, I took great joy in helping others grow their careers and assisting franchisees in running successful businesses. I decided to take the knowledge and experience I gained over my career and offer it to those seeking to climb the corporate ladder or pursue self-employment. I am fortunate to have been mentored and coached by some dynamic leaders. I started my professional career at 7-Eleven as a Store Leader. I spent eight years as a business consultant helping Franchises build strong teams and grow store profitability. After that, I went on to take different mid-level leadership roles in operations, marketing, recruiting, and Franchise Relations. Ultimately, I was allowed to lead a $2.5 Billion operating zone of 1000 stores and 10,000 employees in 14 states. In my coaching and consulting, I leverage this experience and the knowledge I have gained from my undergrad degree from Randolph-Macon College and MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus to help business professionals grow as leaders, improve business acumen, and be more strategic. I opened Your Path Coaching and Consulting to help to level the playing field. Many people want to grow their careers or improve their businesses but need the experience, knowledge, or support necessary to grow quickly. I hope to provide coaching and consulting services to help people clarify their goals and develop strategies to help them achieve their goals faster.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anything worth doing is going to have some bumps. One of the biggest challenges initially was building my brand. I knew I could make an impact, but I needed to figure out how to let other people know. Through trial and error, I have figured out different ways to help to educate people on the benefits of coaching and why they should work with me.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Your Path Coaching and Consulting works with clients that want to bridge the gap between where they are today and where they want to be. We do this by helping clients to clarify their goals, define what motivates them, and establish strategies to help them learn and grow. I am a Co-Active trained coach, meaning I focus on the connection between what we do and who we are. When we are purposeful in our actions, we can achieve more. As a former corporate executive with experience running over 1000 stores, leading 10,000 employees, and being responsible for a $2.5 billion P&L, I understand the pressures of running large organizations. In addition, I know the stress brought on by trying to be perfect in every aspect of one’s life. I help clients identify what is truly important and help them remain committed to pursuing actions that support their goals.
My business experience makes me uniquely positioned to work with small business owners and those looking to climb the corporate ladder. I understand what it takes to build strategy, align people on a common purpose, identify and develop talent, and use data to identify growth opportunities. The skills it takes to grow a company brand are similar to those necessary to grow a personal brand. I use marketing and business principles to help clients develop learning plans and personal strategies that support goal achievement.
