Community Highlights: Meet Christina Hedgepeth of CHedge Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Hedgepeth.

Hi Christina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I am a real estate agent, social media manager, and a marketing consultant. My real estate business name is CHedge Realty. I help people from all walks of life but specialize in first-time home-buying programs for African American buyers. I partner with a black-owned mortgage company, “Legacy Home Loans” that works with first-time home buyers who reside in Baltimore, Maryland. This allows first-time home ownership with only a 1% downpayment. The residents can buy for the first time in Baltimore but also anywhere else in the US, they will qualify for the program. This is essential in building financial literacy and wealth within the black community. Please note any race can qualify for this program.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I started my real estate journey in 2019! Unable to test National and state due to covid-19 shutdowns. Fast forward to 2021, and I retook the real estate exam and passed.

I had many obstacles that tried to stop me from obtaining my license. I did not give up and reached my dream. I am now selling real estate in Delaware and will be selling real estate in Maryland starting December 2022. Currently, I work to inform those of the first-time home buyer program in the state of Maryland, and am eager to start helping people buy, sell, and invest in Maryland.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
CHedge Realty is a real estate business that wants to help all excel in home ownership and investing in real estate. I am here to help those who want to buy, sell, or invest. I market on social media with weekly information for those who may not be ready to buy but want to become knowledgeable in real estate and finance education. Also, I mentor new agents in test-taking skills to pass their exams as well as giving them a 30-tip rule guide when first entering the real estate business. I am proud that not only am I able to sell people their first home but also inspire other people who are interested in real estate. I consider myself a personal cheerleader as I have helped people I have never met in person who are located in states like California, Texas, and Florida, just to name a few pass the real estate exams with my knowledge and support. Native of Washington, D.C. I find it very essential to give back and promote wealth in the communities that helped me grow into the woman I am today. Being from this ever-changing upcoming area, I know the ins and outs of the best places to invest.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Entrepreneurship is a journey, so don’t be too hard on yourself and take everything as a lesson and a part of your story. To be disciplined in not only your working life but your personal life and relationships as well. Your network of people has a big influence on how you operate, so be mindful of those around you. With that said, I love the entrepreneurship lifestyle, and as a person who loves to travel, I can’t imagine my life any other way.
