Life & Work with Seraphina Black

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seraphina Black.

Hi Seraphina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I was raised in California, and I have traveled all over. I enjoy seeing new states and new places, but large cities have always been my favorite! When I decided to pursue alternative modeling, I knew it wouldn’t be easy.

Being willing to travel anywhere for shoots and projects has helped to open up a lot more opportunities for me. I dreamed of going into modeling since I was a little girl, but it took me years to finally decide to try and go after my dreams. I am also working on getting my English degree. Why stop at just one dream?

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road. I started this journey before COVID hit, so dealing with the effects COVID has had on the economy has made many things more difficult. Small things like getting equipment and props shipped on time, and big things like travel delays and restrictions.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in alternative modeling. I find it important to remain true to who I am and what is important to me in everything that I do.

I am proudest of my biggest strength- being willing to put a lot of hard work into any goal that I want to achieve. I believe what sets me apart from others is the edge and variety I put into my shoots. It is a lot of fun to do anything I feel inspired to do!

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
COVID has impacted everyone in one way or another. It’s taught me to value what is really important to me and to have extra patience. Nothing is the way it used to be now, and everyone is still trying to adjust to that.
