Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
5/5/2017 is where my rap career began.
My good friend, Russell (SaintRuss), was the first person to believe in me. I was and still am a huge fan of Hip-hop, but I didn’t see myself being anything more than that. And the momentum has been rolling and picking up ever since.
Being a part of 25+ projects has certainly presented opportunities for me to grow and develop as an artist, with only room to improve and further perfect the craft that I love.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey hasn’t been the smoothest, but with the variation of the highs and lows, knowledge and understanding of the game most definitely have been retained.
From engineers who shorted us during studio sessions for their own financial gain, to open mic venues being postponed and/or canceled due to various reasons, to system crashes in the middle of a recording session!
And yet, all of those adversities only made me sharper.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Hip-hop artist. I would say I’m best known for my extensive vocab over wax, while still remaining relevant and true to MY pen and craft.
I am most proud of the number of projects and collaborative efforts I’ve been a part of because it’s exposed me to so much knowledge, wisdom, and game. And I’ve been applying all those teachings to my work. What separates me would be I’m not the typical sound from my city, and I’m not one to shy away from learning from others.
That’s the only way you’ll get better, in my opinion.
