Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Ryan.
Hi Kyle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started in the beauty industry at a young age. I have been surrounded by all things beautiful because I grew up with a mother beautician and in a family of working artists. I picked up my first makeup brush and found my passion for makeup at the young age of 14 years old.
I later moved to NYC to study makeup at Makeup Designory. Since that time, I have worked in all areas of makeup but found my love for beauty and editorial makeup work more recently. I now am a brand artist and educator and will launch my own cosmetic company in the next year. I also have discovered my love for beauty and fashion photography and take photographs regularly.
I currently work in the beauty, fashion, and photography creative space. You can see my work on Instagram @kyleryanbeauty and on my website www.kyleryanbeauty.com.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My road has not been the smoothest, but the obstacles have made me a stronger person and a better human being. With very little support from my family in my chosen profession, it has made life difficult. I have always simply followed my heart and done what I felt was right in every situation in my career.
I have spent many hours working for what I wanted and I achieved my goals. I realized the more seeds we plant they start to bloom all around us. If we work for things we want little by little they come to life. I always set goals and work to accomplish them. I have been told that I can not do things but persevere and complete them anyway.
I have faced many struggles along the way but I always work harder and continue to get stronger.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional makeup artist, licensed cosmetologist, small business owner, fashion and beauty photographer, and creative.
I was so proud this year to see my work featured amongst the best makeup artist in magazine features for New York fashion week like vogue and Elle. I realized it’s not always about the clout and the followers, but it’s about the artistry and lighting up a room naturally. I feel like being yourself and following your heart will never do you wrong.
I am the founder and creative director of Just Judy’s Company (Candle Company) www.justjudys.co. My mother, Judy is the inspiration for the brand. Because I lost at a young age. The smell of her perfume would take me back to the last time that I was with her. I realized the connection between the scent and memories we hold dear to our hearts.
In addition, my makeup and photography have been published worldwide in magazines Elle USA, Harpers Bazaar Vietnam, Pump Magazine, and Philadelphia Magazine.
