The Latane Group was conceived and founded by Loreal Latane Butler-Willis whose wide industry relationships and experience in women’s fashions, men’s furnishings, and store management for Fortune 500 luxury retailers, and marketing background allow her to skillfully consult, assemble looks, shop, pull, and produce any kind of garment and or brand image for a range of exclusive clients, fashion industry projects, fashion-retail stores, and commercial companies.

She has previously worked in various capacities with major brands including J. Though heavily engaged in the world of fashion, Loreal’s marketing pursuits led her down a different path of government contracting in the healthcare and IT fields.

Being in the fashion and marketing industry for over a decade and a half, Loreal’s expertise and sharp sense allow her to creatively mix the mastered timelessness of wardrobing with novel marketing and image management to consistently bring out the best in her clients.

Her vigor for wholistic image development is underscored by an aesthetic based on, and, the philosophy of not just creating ensembles, but fully incorporating what the true essence of a wardrobe or spirit of an entity’s brand is into the lifestyle of her clients.

Raised in Baltimore, MD, Loreal has always been surrounded by the arts – with a mother who’s a painter, a father who’s a photographer, and a sister who is an accomplished dancer, playwright, and author. Her strong sense of business acumen was inherited from her uncle-godfather who has worked in prestigious leadership roles being an amazing advisor and teacher.

Loreal had her early education at Montessori School and St. Paul’s School for Girls. She then pursued her higher education, earning a business management degree from the Earl G. Graves School of Business at Morgan State University, as well as studying graduate level at the University of Maryland for Marketing. She has also completed art courses at the Maryland Institute College of Arts (MICA) including graphic & web design, as well as portfolio building for non-majors.

Since Loreal was in high school she has worked hard to build both the academic knowledge and professional skills necessary to be a successful entrepreneur. Loreal has extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of marketing, image consulting, and metaphysics. She has developed a strong resume of professional, educational, and leadership experiences that are key components to developing and maintaining a successful business.

She has developed a reputation as a problem solver, an intuitive, a creative, and an innovative business development leader. Loreal is a disciplined strategic consultant and a result-driven professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Loreal has had internships with several major companies such as ION, AmeriHealth Mercy —which is one of the largest healthcare companies in the country, as well as Amerisource Bergen which ranks 12 on the fortune 100 lists. These experiences allowed Loreal to work with the executive management teams on a series of market development, board presentations, and leadership programs.

Loreal has surrounded herself with a strong cadre of proven business and academic leaders from a variety of fields that will serve as advisors to her company as she continuously builds out her team. Through her business development initiative, Loreal also obtained contracted consulting engagements with several organizations where she could further develop her skills and knowledge in marketing, finance, image management, and technology services.

The Latane Group over the past several years has been able to develop some clients that have allowed her to travel internationally and be recognized by TV and print media.

Loreal has exhibited her art at the Eubie Blake National Jazz and Cultural Center and the Baltimore Museum of Art. She has also participated in various fashion industry events including model dressing for Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week, showcasing brands for the Luxury Review at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York, attending the FGI ‘Tastemakers’ breakfast held at The 21 Club, and attending The Maryland Historical Society’s ‘Spectrum of Fashion Gala’.

In Loreal’s most recent years she has taken up studies in consciousness and metaphysics via The Innerversity of Sevan Bomar and the ‘A Course In Miracles’ curriculum published by the Foundation for Inner Peace. Her studies of consciousness have inspired her to develop a K-12 curriculum based on the principles of true enlightenment.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every business has its ups and downs, especially in navigating through the recent pandemic.

I believe it is all about being adaptable and innovative while sticking to the core principles of your business, outlook and mindset in life.

Since my business is service/consulting based I can say it has been a smoother road in some respects compared to those small businesses with standing inventories and having to juggle commercial real estate expenses.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Utilizing the knowledge gained from our customer base, the recruitment of proven professionals, as well as extensive research into the areas of organizational performance we began to develop a broader service offering. This was not, however, a random selection of services based solely on marketplace opportunities. Our group, after extensive research, decided to offer a set of services developed around a core methodology that would integrate the mission, vision, and brand of an organization, strategy development, technology, operations, and human capital that would facilitate optimal performance.

Our Image Management Sector.

Our Education Sector.

The Latane Group is currently in the research and development stages of producing a curriculum and school. The Latane School of Higher Self will focus on developing the mind through the collective consciousness in all of our teachings and will always remain respectful to humankind, every living creature, and live thankful and gracious for creation itself.

The curriculum will teach howcreate and operate from the heart center, with mindfulness, and with Love. LSHS will teach from an abundance mindset, encourage open minds without limitation by releasing daily all: Judgments and conclusions, exercising true forgiveness, and ensure a safe environment –welcoming students to let down their barriers.

At the LSHS students will learn through the process of self-actualization. Moreover, learning will be executed at the pace of the student. Students “Lotus Blossom” as they grow in learning.

The Lotus flower is regarded in many different cultures, especially in eastern religions, as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration, and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.

The Latane School of Higher Self teaching methods will be based around assisting and encouraging students to stay focused on and understand their life path and purpose.

As students grow and blossom to higher levels of learning their studies will become more concentrated highlighting their talents, and purpose, and customized to their soul mission and Divine life path.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson I have personally learned is patience.

Having patience allows one to learn to never compromise their standards and boundaries. One of my favorite quotes is: “The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for. ”, said Maureen Dowd.
