Hi Loren, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My passion for travel stems from childhood as I anticipated family summer vacations with my parents and brother. But, my desire to start my travel agency branched from my passion for entrepreneurship and creating lasting memories.
My career started while attending The Bennett School of Travel and obtaining my Certified Travel Consultant (CTC) certification from The Travel Institute. Afterward, I obtained my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Upon graduation, I founded Destinations Reached Travel Consulting and Services and I haven’t looked back since!
For the past thirteen years, I’ve maintained loyal clientele and welcome new customers to the “Destinations Reached” family by developing and managing group & specialty travel. Our top markets include: corporate retreats, destination weddings, honeymoons, reunions, sporting events, and bachelorette/bachelor parties. I’ve had the privilege to be invited to numerous industry conventions to extend my travel and hospitality expertise on a number of media platforms, including BMORE Lifestyle, Maryland Women’s Journal, and the Travel Industry Exchange.
This past Fall, I launched The Travel Experience: Embracing Baltimore’s Tourism and Culture. The annual event highlights and promotes “Charm City’s” travel attractions, accommodations, and entrepreneurs. The event features local vendors, catered cuisine, a live DJ set, and a featured Baltimore attraction and/or service.
It is our mission to provide a one-on-one consultation to our clients, customize itineraries based on lifestyles and specs, and offer a sense of relief and security throughout the overall planning process.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some struggles include competition with Internet travel platforms/search engines.
But, my agency customizes itineraries with private owners and vendors exclusive to industry professionals, and my knowledge and accreditations keep me ahead of the game and make me a viable asset.
