Today we’d like to introduce you to Zanora Arey.
Hi Zanora, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I like to say that I’m an “Jack of all trades” I make music, photography, model, and host a podcast (Flowology).
I started my photography business (@Golden_photography__ on Instagram) in 2016 during my sophomore year of college. While I was growing my portfolio, I got into modeling; I made other friends who were also into photography and would model for them.
I’ve always been into music. It’s my first love above anything else. I’ve used my platform on Instagram to express my love for each field. That expression caught the attention of a CEO of an athletic clothing brand Iconic Leggings in October 2021.
I booked my first ad campaign for their website. My biggest accomplishment is culture media, a platform to highlight and celebrate the African diaspora across the globe, whether that be musicians, activists, artists, etc.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many obstacles, but the biggest one was me, whether that was self-doubt, procrastination, or even consistency.
The hardest thing about being a content creator is maneuvering around your personal needs with work balancing self-care with the ethics you have to keep yourself in mind because you are the brand, and there’s no content to be made without yourself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I consider myself a content creator.
I make music, model, YouTube, photography, and host a podcast what I like to do with my work in any area is shine a light on my community both the LGBTQ community and the black community, and amplify our voices and stories that set me apart.
I’m passionate but also I’m ready to tackle any obstacle even if that means accomplishing a task.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as whatever makes you feel whole most people would probably say wealth or status however if your goal is to work a 9-5 to support your family you and your doing that you’ve succeeded.
If your goal was to show up as yourself in your fullness and you do that. You’ve succeeded! Everything is based on perception success is what you need it to be for yourself.
